New surveillance video shows pickup truck driving toward people on Bourbon Street in New Orleans

The Army veteran who drove a pickup truck into a crowd of New Year’s revelers in New Orleans acted alone, the FBI said Thursday, reversing its position from a day earlier that he likely worked with others in the deadly attack that officials said was inspired by the Islamic State group.

The FBI also revealed that the driver, Shamsud-Din Jabbar, an American citizen from Texas, posted five videos on his Facebook account in the hours before the attack in which he proclaimed his support for the militant group and previewed the violence that he would soon unleash in the famed French Quarter district.

“This was an act of terrorism. It was premeditated and an evil act,” said Christopher Raia, the deputy assistant director of the FBI’s counterterrorism division, calling Jabbar “100% inspired” by the Islamic State.

The attack along Bourbon Street killed 14 revelers, along with Jabbar, who was fatally shot in a firefight with police after steering his speeding truck around a barricade and plowing into the crowd.

If its people making a political statement or religious statement or whatever statement do you really think the government's or who ever is in charge,do you think they care about these civilians been killed,do you think this is going to change things??..
My heart genuinely goes out to people who have lost there loved ones through these brutal attacks,to people who have been hurt,to people who have been affected by these attacks..i know it affects us all in some way but those who were closest to the attacks its changed there life forever..
I dont understand these isis attacks either..i could go on but i wont..
I feel like we as the peolle need to stand up & take things into our own hands, because i don't feel like we are cared for or protected, I'm in England aswell..
We really need to do something, what that is & how we start i do not know, but we need to do something & soon..
I believe we are not told the truth about many things about power about greed, theres so much more going on than what wel know..

  2. Go investigate one of your own city departments who already let you know they didnt work because the city hired contractors to renovate the mechanical barrier system. Im gunna guess it was locked out, which is federal and state law when ever someone works on or is affected by hazarous energy sources. It wasnt "with the superbowl coming they should have known". It was BECAUSE the superbowl was upcoming they were gettin it done. Without a superbowl i wonder if the city would even had sceduled the repairs. The killer did this, not city leaders, but you asked how and the answers in yolls own city hall.

  3. It seems to always come down to people not doing the job they are paid to do but I read they were going to make sure the bollards-just learned what those are tonight-were up by the time of the superbowl!🤨

  5. 2 rental vehicle attacks. 2 military men out of Fort Bragg. Both served in Afghanistan. The armed forces has got to do better for troops on mental health issues. The fact these attacks were done by ex military highlights the extreme issues we have in the us.

  6. Soo. Any major city that has big NYE festivities has to have physical cordons that can actually physically stop a vehicle moving at a high speed through them.
That doesn't sound financially feasible for the potential risk.
At that, point all major cities should just cancel all major festivities, just to deter a potential attack from whomever or whatever, rather than the city paying for impossible security measures.

  7. Louisiana is a blue state. That means Democrat ran, big government, big taxes. But they don’t have enough money for a piece of concrete the with of a log 3 feet high? Maybe Harris spent it on Beyoncé to twerk at a dance party.
