NEW SENATE BUILDING UPDATE ( P8.9 BILLION SENATE HEADQUARTERS)

NEW SENATE BUILDING UPDATE

A symbolic lowering of the “time capsule” at the new Senate building in Taguig City. The time capsule will be retrieved and opened in 50 or 100 years.

During the dedication ceremony at the basement of the new Senate building in Fort Bonifacio in Taguig City Senator Sotto recalled how the upper chamber’s old building in Manila and the current building in Pasay City served as witness of history.

The new Senate headquarters on a 1.8-hectare property at the Philippine Navy Village will have enough space for at least 65 senators, just in case the country changes its government to either federalism or parliamentary

The design of the 11 storey building is made by American engineering and architectural firm Aecom.

The future Senate headquarters would have four towers within Fort Bonifacio,Taguig city.

The complex was designed to have a three-level parking area for 1,200 cars and offices for at least five dozen senators.

The senators originally earmarked a total of P8.5 billion for the project, but the bid of Hilmarc’s gave them some P500 million in savings.

  2. Filipino Federation, One President One Vice President, One Congress, don't split up the senators and representatives, just make them in a single house of congress more efficient and more cost effective for the building

  5. Have mercy, we don't need to spend that amount to house our leaders. There are projects that needs that kind of money to help people in need. Tax prayers are already paying these politicians to their job.
