  1. It's worth noting that the new 38mm 5XK watches don't have the same dimensions as the SKX013 – they're 12.1mm instead of 13.5 for the SKX013, which a lot of smaller-wristed folks thought were too top-heavy. I have the SRPK29, and it's very wearable on my 6.25 inch wrist.

  2. The small watches fit you fine as well, you're just used to wearing the larger sizes and seeing them on wrist. If you wore the smaller ones for a while you'd see they are actually more proportional to your wrist size.

  3. I know that Seiko is a profit and money maker, but after looking at all of these. I'd buy an Islander over any of them every day of the week. you offer more for nearly equal pricing. And I would support an independant shop that makes such a great product. I have my Islander Polar monster and it's one of my best watches.

  4. 4:46 I saw that model an hour ago in a boutique, I think it's the best looking one, with the orange being pretty cool.
The seller told me he would not give me any discount, any time of the year, because he was tired of Seiko ( France ) calling them everytime they do a discount πŸ˜‚ at least that was clear.

I don't know if it's true or if he's just tired of B2C in general, but he seemed genuine.

  5. Glad they've dumped the B dial aviator numbering on the field watch for the traditional field watch, but man, I really wish they'd dump the day/date windows for these. Domed crystal is cool though! And perfect sizing.

  6. All-righty: The "5KX" and bluesy Turtle numbers are nice, although I've scratched that collective itch by getting a 5 Sports GMT "Batman" from you a few months back (once again, thanks for getting it out to me crazy-fast as usual). But, that green-dial 36mm…ouch, that's seriously nice. If I didn't already have my 017 Alpinist (also bought from you just before Seiko pulled the plug on the whole SARB line), I be on this watch stat (and I won't rule out getting one at some point anyway). Thanks for showing this one!

  7. β€œI want to sell them to you”. Never a truer word said and I wish more reviewers had the balls or gave people the respect not to try pretend this isn’t the fact. πŸ‘

  8. I have an almost 8 inch wrist, but I'm really pleased that the day of the 45mm watch is passing.
Even on my wrist, the big (now old-fashioned) watches hang over the sides, catch on sleeves, bang into doorframes, and just generally say "Look at me!"
I'm wearing a 36mm watch as I type, and it looks just fine.

  9. These bracelets on the new Seiko 5s have the same problem that my old Seiko 5's have which are only two micro-adjustments. So only one adjustment really. If I pull out a link it is too small, if I leave the link in, the one adjustment is still too big so I can't get a good fit so I had to replace the bracelets and at the time the older Seiko 5s were about 80 to 100 dollars and was not a big deal but these new ones are over 300 USD so that is a big difference. I think your house brand is a better value in the 38mm in the dive watches plus they have Sapphire crystal and 100x better bracelets. and I hate hardlex as they scratch and can't be buffed out.

  10. I have the beige/champagne 38mm SRPK and it is an underrated watch overshadowed by the overrrated teal/not teal dial. The black/gunmetal hands and indices and the sunburst (yes it is a sunburst) dial make it much more appealing in person.

  11. Where are the "new" seiko watches? I only see watches that were on the market years…maybe new for your shop, every single watch you showed here where in the video, was in my local shop for more than 3 years…

  12. I've just got my Seiko 6139 pepsi pogue, back from service and I've got it on a rubber strap, Marc have you had any thoughts of doing some of your rubber straps for the pogue, like the ones that fitted to the titanium watch….??
