  1. How dare you. As an Edmontonian I'm disgusted by you listing off Canadian cities and didn't mention us. We stole the packers color scheme for our CFL team, pat Bowen lived here for a while, and our dilapidated football stadium has as many seats as Green bay has people. Despicable.

  2. An unforeseen consequence of the tackling rules could be how defenses adapt to it. I could easily see defenses doubling down on playing two high safeties to ensure that the extra broken tackles in the flat don't go for touchdowns, which will mean that offenses have to continue dinking and dunking to move the ball

  3. Shannon Sharp is right I think. You didn’t see hip drop tackles until ‘leading with the head’ tackles were eliminated. The rule change caused a new problem. Not to say the rule change of leading with the head was a bad idea.

  4. Twitter has become even more of a toxic cesspool since Elon bought it.
The entire site not only inventivises farming rage bait, but then you have those people like Tom said, who actually belive some high-key insane stuff and have constructed a massive echo chamber which reinforces all their insane beliefs.

The Cam Newton comparison for how Caleb is being criticized is pretty accurate as well.

  5. For the hip drop tackle rule, I / think / what they want defenders to do is, if the defender is coming from behind, limit him to wrapping up the runner from the thighs. This allows the defender to keep his feet firmly on the ground when his arms wrap, and get dragged behind instead of getting dragged underneath the runner. Basically it'll look closer to a "shoesteimg" tackle where the defender trips up the runner who will fall forward. Obviously this is a help to the runner and takes a tool away from the defense. I think ya'll are right on in that this will have to be called consistently, and explained well in broadcast and replay. What gets me is the NFL still not letting the audience see the booth review, XFL style. That would solve so many problems of explainablity

  6. They didn't attack Trevor as much but they did question is want to play football. But there's a part of this that he's a black qb truth be told. Definitely social media seems to be more rampant than previously

  7. I see the argument about it’s OK if it only gets called once or twice a year. However, that makes it worse possibly as it will be seen as only used against one team at a very crucial point in the season and not called against anybody else, and it will just be tragic to see the lions miss out on another number one seed.
