Besides, I don’t live my life under studio lighting, so I need my makeup to look good in natural lighting mostly for my day to day life, which I why I prefer to test out products in the type of lighting I see my makeup in most.

  1. Hi Maaike I liked the look of the smoke and mirrors palette and the coffee palette – no surprise there lol. The Lisa Eldridge palettes I'm a bit on the fence about tbh. The pans are removable to allow for swapping out shades, but they're not cheap and quite dark overall. The cooler toned smoky palette is nice, but it is quite dark on the pictures/swatches and not a stand alone palette for me. I am still swithering about her foundation (unsure if it will work for my extremely dry skin) and perhaps trying a lipstick. I watched the video with the girl with rosacea and it did cover the milder redness she had, but I think I would still need a green corrector underneath. The Bobbi Brown collab – I don't even know who that character is, but I assume it's more targeted at the Far East market perhaps. It looks like some of her regular or previous products, with different packaging from the pictures. A lot of the palettes featured are very colourful and not really for me. As to the Viseart quads they look quite dark or warm and I'm not overly inspired by those either (I normally like Viseart).
I did order some Kiko stuff on cyber Monday which hasn't arrived yet. I have the new ND retro glam, but as it's a Xmas present haven't tried it yet (though I am excited to play with it). I bought the holiday set of the rare beauty blushes – I like them, but they're really pigmented for my extremely pale skin and set very quickly (a bit of a learning curve for using them). They do last on the skin all day however. I got a couple of eyeliners and a new mascara as well. On top of all that I also placed a stylevana order with an eyeshadow palette and some skincare, so I'm probably shopped out for makeup just now. Best wishes.

  2. I wondered why Kaleidos is doing dupes of kbeauty products, now it makes sense. It's funny most of their reviewers don't even know it's nothing new at all…
Also Oden's Eye. Some of their shimmer/glitter formulas are definitely Chinese and Korean but they also ship out of Hong Kong so it makes sense

  3. I'm not happy w Unearthly. I bought 3 Halloween palettes. supposed to ship around 12th Nov! They sent me supposed shipping confi 13th Nov that was only shipping label created but then did NOTHING! for 3 weeks! It shipped only Dec 1st 😐they didn't bother to let people know they were delayed, and it took multiple emails to finally get a very short reply. That's no proper business conduct. If you wanna throw out release after release every few weeks – which enough other indie brands don't do- you need to also have the actual stock and you need to hire people for support to help you if you can't do it. There are other indie brands who are clearly better organised and more focused on ensuring they actually have the products they're selling! An indie brand is still a business that wants your money, so we can actually expect proper customer service and business conduct. I'm not doing charity work here. I'm not buying from them again… There is quite a few more reliable brands that have same or better formulas
The Tokidoki collection was released from Bobbi Brown Japan 😐and I'm seriously miffed as I can't get anything here! It's so cute and the lipsticks are really pretty colours. Why do brands do that nowadays?? Like the release is known globally, we all can see it but they only actually sell it in a few countries 🙄 the customer base for things like this is global

  4. I want to try unearthly so bad, but I live in the EU and I want to put an order that makes it count. They have just been releasing left and right and I can’t make up my mind before they have another launch and now…. They paused to catch up. Sooooooooooo, not this year. About the acebeaute the other palette that they released is available on the monolith and it’s on discount right now.

  5. Like those new Viseart Petit Fours and the Glamshop Coffee palettes. Agree with you on Bobbi Brown, good but boring. The Tokidoki release might be limited to Asia due to licensing. With PMG, the order I placed last came in on Friday and the rest is stil on its way.

  6. Eeeek ! Glamshop is a copycat lol, that coffee palette is such an obvious rip off of Sydney Grace's Coffe talk palette its not even funny. Not a fan of copycats. On the other note I also got a ton of Kiko Milano, ordered twice so curious to see your video. 😍 I was so excited when I saw that green single from Joyful holiday on the website but then seeing all the swatches here and on insta – i was like meh, it looks way too dark and not as emerald green as I hoped so didnt get that one. Kiko reuses their own colors and collections a lot and they had a green mono shadow already as a single in a different holiday le years ago, Im sure it has nothing to do with Charlotte Tilbury, such collections need time to make. I like CT green shade a lot more, its so pretty !

  7. This may sound weird, but… There's a little sense of satisfaction I get when people say they don't care for Glamlite's shadows. Everyone raves about GL but I just like them. Their mattes are ok nothing special, and it's hard for me to pick up their shimmers with a finger or brush. And the 2 Ace Beauté palette's look like a mish-mash of their previous palette's, the one looks like a combo of their oceanic and tropical vibes palette's, and the other looks like a condensed version of their paletteopoly palette.
PS love your eye look today

  8. I hope soon to make a Gloss Gods purchase, I really find the last few palettes very appealing. Looking forward to that Kiko video and 100% agree on Unearthly, I haven't tried the brand so I can't judge the quality, but definitely one of the reasons that's stopping me is the amount of releases.

  9. Couldn't agree with you more about the proliferation of palettes from brands – sometimes at the same time! It's overwhelming. The only palette I would like (but I am not going to get because I absolutely will not get a lot of use out of it, I just think it looks pretty) is the new bPerfect Carnival Interstellar palette.

  10. My daughter is 12… she isn't interested in nailstickers or makeup in general at the moment. So no Essence for her (and me). And for eyeshadow I have bought Natasha Denona Retroglam, a quad of Charlotte Tilbury and Rosemetals of ABH. I'm fine.
