Idk what all this magazine has planned but having people send in a detail of their build, frame motors props esc fc camera vtx a screenshot of pids and filters ect and a link to a video of how it looks/flies(could help promote small youtubers). I think this would slowly build up a huge helpful knowledge base(editors may need to filter out some bunk info). maybe some notes from the builders on what gave them problems and what made it easier. Affiliate links/qr codes to all the parts could help sustain the "magazine" in whatever form it takes.
Thanks for reading.
Have a great day!
I hope itβs quality print, something I could keep out in my house and it not look like old newspapers
That's a fantastic idea indeed!
Blunty is too young to realize the value of a physical readable material that everyone can enjoy. Kids in school can flip through them. Bring back the old-school text is a great idea. I will definitely subscribe and especially if they make female FPV pilots show off their sexiness like Tammie Jean and Hevy in paris, even rotor rampage will bring people together through a magazine.
I love magazines. I still have a bunch of thrashers and Transworld skateboarding….. and a pile of playboys and scootering international mags. I was excited to hear about fly tribe magazine but I'm afraid bluntly is right
i think ur right ID save that 1st issue
I see Blunty's perspective about being ambivalent to print media- heck I'm in my 40's and do feel the nostalgia of print. To me, putting it on paper today is something I'd less likely buy today than I would 25 years ago. I used to go into B&N or wherever and just post up at the magazine aisle for an hour gobbling up all of the niche subjects I couldn't experience because there were only a handful of people locally (that I've never met) who would also pick up those same magazines.
While online is more accessible, I think we can all agree that putting ink to paper requires a journalistic standard quality that is far more costly to produce than a blog so you're compelled to produce higher quality journalism and presentation. For instance, if I did the same thing in blog format, I'd be way too lazy to make something look and value that good and I hope the Bardwell's and Oscar LLiang's of the world are making as much as a magazine would but nowadays everyone can and do publish content mixed with opinion online. However, I have no idea how much money can be made when you're competing with a million people pumping out low quality content and FPV vids to airy techno music- while they surf the web with an ad blocker.
Or whatever genre kids these days are using for FPV vids… I have no idea. I only like BotGrinders music choices.
Signed up and immediately got 200 spam emails in my account, and they keep coming. Use a throwaway address. No blame on the magazine, just the horrible company they are using; Issuu is one of the worst, if not the sole problem. I thought I could trust the FPV world, hahahahahaha, I should have known.
I thought it would also be in print right now after watching Slatts video. I only want print. Sorry, I'm old. And all my magazines have tried to disappear. We need paper over digital, you'll see.
I'm in that magazine xD
I made it in the first edition… page 4 top between Bubby & Seajaye!!! Official Baby Boomer… +1 for physical media π
