  1. Only one of my selections made the top 12 and none made the top 5.

    1. King Diamond – Conspiracy
    2. Metal Church – Blessing in Disguise
    3. Annihilator – Alice In Hell
    4. Blind Guardian – Follow the Blind
    5. Atheist – Piece of Time

Kinda fell out of purchasing new music after 89 as the metal music scene was too watered down or just too extreme for my taste at the time.

Good variety of picks by the PowerAge crew.

  2. Thought Quireboys released their debut album in '89, but I might be wrong. Have to agree that Queen's The Miracle had its moments but far from their best (not forgetting that there are hints why they didn't tour the album).

For albums that I loved from that year…

    Xentrix – Shattered Existence
    Sepultura – Beneath the Remains
    Overkill – Years of Decay
    Obituary – Slowly We Rot
    Carcass – Symphonies of Sickness
Morbid Angel – Altars of Madness
    Terrorizer – World Downfall
    RHCP – Mother's Milk
    Soundgarden – Louder than Love

There's other albums from the year that I could mention but think that would be enough for now. Look forward to the next one.

  3. Dude – that Aerosmith weekend was QUALITY! You arrived at my student dorm, Moroccan in hand, smoked all day, got into the Aerosmith gig for a tenner and smoked away in there. Getting to our seats as they just started Sweet Emotion – one of the best rock n roll days of my life lol!

  4. FNM were AMAZING live. Those hummingbird gigs were top 5 in my life. Good times! Enuff Z Nuff was a not album that didn’t get a message. I think Badlands and Blue Murder shoulda got in the top 12 though. Fair enough on the top 1&2 though… I’d rather have black box than FM…
