By the way you can very easly "verbally" moniplate all modern AI… As all AI's are like puppies they aim to please and are extemly trusting… An take trully evil people to break… Like Google with Youtube AI and Gemini… So yeah the most misunder stodd thing about AI is… the I part pretty much an AI is litterly a machince that is intelhent like complex life forms tend to be… With the big modern AIs being what I consoider Dog level intelligent …. So yeah nit thagt it matters as this is COD and acracuy never was that much a concern to writers… although like SAM;s plot shows that can have moemnts of genus like the whole Zmobes stoiry is if taken as a fun story most ignore as co-op horde mode stuff…

If richtofen was trying to harness her "powers" her skill set at the time would've been creating breaches in weak points to the dark aether like firebase z. AI Sam could in theory have this ability too.
I believe sam is like the old richtofen of the old universe, always getting her way and causing the outbreaks and zombies to happen. And richtofen is the one who has been corrupted by past trauma but is able to get past most, like Sam in the old timeline when she was forced to be in the aether and in the crazy place.
The forsaken didn’t die, therefore in the eyes of the dark aether he is still the Archon of the dark aether and is still in control also the announcer is the forsaken it’s the same voice just more aggressive

In firebase z when we bring Samantha back she was wearing clothes that had stuff on it that looked like stuff the old crew had in black ops 3 what if that Samantha that came out was in fact Dr monty we know he has powers and that the dark either can change someone but also Dr monty and the crew would have gone in together so what if Dr monty killed the old crew and took trophies from then and changed his look to look like Samantha so he can't trick the new crew Dr monty would have learnt from the last time he tried to manipulate the old crew so now he's using a face we would trust

Guess this is why the voice actress was fired so that the ai version is the villain (maybe the actress will be rehired in the end if Samantha ever freed from the Dark Aether)

New theory: S.A.M isnt an AI; it's a communicator to the dark aether and Richtofen is using the real Maxis as a conduit for interdimentional travel to find a reality where his family wasn't killed by his hubris

Edit: I have a slightly different theories about this so called AI. It may have started as an AI based on Maxis, but I think it became a conduit for the real Sam to reach out through the Dark Aether. Remember, Dr. Maxis in the old games could communicate through electronics. What if Sam managed to do the same and is just pretending to be an AI while she manipulates the crew into setting her free. She took over the AI right in the beginning, and that's why she called Richtofen "Eddie".
Also, Panos was talking to someone in the Dark Aether, wondering if he would become like them if he stayed in there too long and promising to find their friends once he got out. At one point he even talks about not hating Richtofen and thinks that they don't either, eluding to the being he is talking to in the Dark Aether having a connection to Richtofen as well. And I could see the real Sam being angry with Eddie but not hating him being the case, since they both are the sole survivors of the previous multiverse.
There's also the matter of the containment sphere that trapped the Forsaken. Doesn't the giant sphere in the mansion basement look like a pimped out version of it? What if Richtofen used the containment device in the creation of the S.A.M. and created a link between it and the Dark Aether? Maxis could end up controlling that thing like the one back in Gorod Krovi.
To sum it up, I think Maxis is the new Dark Aether entity and is manipulating the crew to bring her back while she's evil. I think the next three maps are gonna take us to the dig site to recover the Artifact, where S.A.M. will tell the crew that Richtofen has been located in the mansion at Liberty Falls and probably show them footage of him to persuade them to go there, even through she knows he is already captured. Then we will go to the Janus Towers to the north of Liberty Falls, where we will find Panos waiting for us and undoubtedly try to kill us for the artifact. Finally, we will end up and the mansion looking for Richtofen and be faced with the truth about S.A.M.

i know the announcers voice is male when you pick up a power up but I think Sam is the entity that's in control of the dark aether now and with her powers which have very likely developed even further now she's in control of the AI sam and she's using her former friends as tools to get her out so she can take over the world just like the forsaken tried to do in cold war

You failed to think that since they were traveling to different universes with different outcomes that sam could actually be the one in control of the zombies, hear me out. The voice in shadows was the shadow man. And for the next 4 characters blood vials sam was the announcer and at the end in revelations dr monty is the announcer. Which makes sense because in shadows of evil the shadow man was trying to obtain the orb but with the rest of the crew they were the bo1 versions, like Richthofen who wants Sam’s body, meaning that Richthofen most likely did those experiments on Samantha putting her in control of the zombies. And obviously dr monty being the e announcer for rev is because he is trying to reset his universe perpetuating his immortality. It makes sense that the announcer is the one in control.
Kinda shocking no one seems to notice the AI referring to Richtofen as 'Eddie' when it first wakes up when Richtofen clearly said he name was Edward. This shows the AI is already hiding something right from the get-go given it knows of that name. More than likely is being controlled by the real Sam or the Forsaken, or both in some combined corrupted way.
What if S.A.M is the eather Samantha. If you listen to the voice when he first started her up. Dark eather Sam didn't have that pitch to her voice when she spoke. Also when he pushed SAM, what if her old eather side became present that was trapped in the dark eather.
I was thinking what if maxis herself is sending the zombies through to go after our crew trying to stop us from doing edwards bidding but she is disguising it as the work of someone else just a theory 🤔
Are we seriously not going to talk about Richtofen being in the dark aether(got taken by the purple fog aka dark aether during liberty falls outbreak) and what that could mean, what if he gets his dark powers back like he had in bo2 and part of bo3
