New emission laws put popular work utes under threat

Nationals Senator Matt Canavan says he is not against the government trying to “clean up” the fuels used in cars.

The Albanese government announce new emission standards laws for petrol and diesel-powered vehicles.

Mr Canavan told Sky News Senior Reporter Caroline Marcus that putting these standards in place without a “proper plan” for our refinery’s risks having all of Australia’s oil being imported from overseas.

“I don’t think that’s something we should want to go towards in this current environment.

“With conflict emerging all around the world.”

  2. This terrorist in parliament being Elma Fudd needs to be tried and imprisoned for negligence of his role and for lying and decieving the voters at election time. Albo needs to be sacked immediately along with the greens and Labor Organised Crime Party.

  4. Come on Sky news… I came here to see the new emission laws and only 1/3rd of the video is on subject. "click bait". I still know nothing of the laws or how it will effect my vehicles.

  5. What’s Dutton’s take on these strictest emissions laws Australia has ever seen?.. We know what Albanese is about but what about Dutton, is he the conservative he claims to be, if so he would tear up and reverse pretty much everything Labor have done and plenty of the former governments globalist policies. Coal fired power stations would be a no brainer under a true conservative politician.. I can see Dutton getting in but we need to know where he stands?.. I doubt he will say to much about globalism until after the result of the US election. If Trump gets back in its game on to fix this disgusting mess they’ve created for us. Agenda 2030.

  6. Another cash grab. Tax this, tax that, rate hikes, tax, tax, tax, fees, fees, fees, levy, levy, levy. It's become so difficult to live. We need a brand new fresh government. Everyone in the parliament should be replaced by people who understand how expensive and painful it is to live. There's literally a tax on everything, even when you die, they'll charge tax to bury your corpse.

  7. Bollocks. You shills are regurgitating the old "ThEy'Re CoMiNg FoR oUr UtEs" argument again. All it means is they will be compliant to new rules. We're catching up with the rest of the world. Most cars made today are already compliant with the previous EU emission rules. The car manufacturers will build them that way to meet the market.

  8. Fuel emission standards have been done to death over and over.
What Albo is doing now though is saying there are certain types of vehicles we don't want you to drive.
With the ALP in power, it's time to dust off the old Flintstones car from the stone age, what else would you need in a 15 minute city.
