As the Travis of the "Travis and Jen" patreon dice, I (the Custodes player) was very pleased to see my dice roll fail to hit and wound and Jen (the Tyranid player) was very happy to put 8 damage on James' redemptor! Another great thematic apocalypse match! Always love your battle reports but the apocalypse matches go above and beyond. Also please stop decapitating Guilliman 🤕

This is such an epic collection of forces, I hope to be able to play a game like this one day, with two really well painted armies on a beautiful table.
I could be wrong, but my assumption is that this Tyranid Codex is really bad. However, why not try to use it at its best? For example, in a battle like this, full of enemy tanks, I would have choosen the standard detachment and not the stampede one, because Lethal Hits vs Vehicle and Monsters (and Big G. is a Monster…) is a better asset vs all those tough targets (just in case, using the Stratagem to set a unit in a different adaptation to strike a different kind of target). Or another example: try use immediately the Swarmlord ability to increase CP cost for a Strat; played vs Armour of Contempt it could have made the difference…as Tyranids have been nerfed both in shooting and CC!!!
But as always, the battlefield, the narrative and the models are awsome!!!

Beautiful matchup and a great narrative battle. Would love to see Captain Acheron in the future, perhaps lending a hand or bailing out some grim regiment of Astra Militarum elsewhere on the wall, now that his rescue mission is completed.
