  1. I love it, never considered Chaos before but that Abominant is making me feel things. Flavorful, customizable, flexible it all sound amazing…

BUT… imagine being on the other side of the board. Just the guy setting down a bunch of chaos knights tells you maybe 50% of what to expect. This is just going to make the, "That was a brilliant tactical plan, but this stratagem on page 78 of my codex says you lose!" Problem even worse.

  2. So, I’m new to the gameplay part of the hobby, and I’m still figuring out some of the rules, but…this codex is kinda broken, right? I’m not just overreacting to Tycho and Mubin’s (sp?) enthusiasm?

  3. The return of Marks of Chaos in this codex makes me even more excited for the upcoming CSM book. Definitely doing a CK army… once I sell a kidney or two.

  4. Congrats on the codex preview! You guys have been deserving of it for making this hobby more accessible to players with digestible videos.

I need more Tycho on Chaos saying, to me anyways, his catch phrase "RAMPAGE!" I always hear it ever since his debut with them back in season 2 vs Grey Knights.

  5. These new Codexes… Codexi… Codexs…? Anyways, I feel that all of the new ones that came out have shown in which direction GW wants to go with heavy internal balance, starting with the Tau (they have to sell all of their models somehow), and up the numbers and buffs to make it feel like you're fighting a truly epic battle. My poor Raven Gaurd.

  6. The marks are cool, but some really stand above the rest. Also Tyrants are still awful, but that is less an issue with this book and a problem with the terrain rules of 9th. Tyrants will still die to Pask, or melta spam, or really any anti-tank fired from behind a wall. I'm going to guess the competitive builds for this army will look something like 1-2 of the big, non-tyrant knights and the rest of the list being taken up by wardogs. With the Thermal spear being Heavy 2 and S9 it has a ton of threat in terms of beating up on vehicles, or even just melting salamander smash captains. I think the real question is if these knights can do anything for the chaos factions that struggle competitively. A melee knight with the Subjugation hull seems really at home in monster mash, and I can see the thousand sons running a big friend too. Deathguard will still probably choose Mortarion if they even play a titanic unit. Over all an interesting, but not meta defining book that I think would have had more impact were we not in a meta of craftworld being unshootable for the first 2-3 turns, tryanids being nutty, and AoC bringing marines and sisters back into the top side of power.

  7. I like how this Mubin dude just bought his way into the videos, pretty sure he is the top paytreon and they just have to put up with him as he forces himself into there content.

  8. I've posted this comment on Reddit, Happy feet are not gone, they are actually back, better than ever!I'm a HUGE fan of the Rampager knight! Give that dude a Warlord trait, Knight Diablous for that extra attack. Hand him a Relic, thats kinda up to you, I like giving him Pyrothrone, so he can cast Winds of Warp on himself for that 5+ FNP, effectively giving him 34 wounds. Then pick either Dreadblade or the Icono household that grants exploding 6s. That Rampager, when used in combination with 2 stratagems "Crushed like vermin" You have to select your feet, you get -1 to hit, but now you're dealing mortal wounds. The second stratagem is "Break their Lines" If you charged that round +1 to hit, removing that pesky negative from the first stratagem. So my Rampager aptly called Sir Stomps Alot can charge, select his feet, he has 7 attacks on the charge, hits on 2s, rerolls 1s, exploding 6s. If the math checks out, he'll average 16 MWs to infantry for 2 CP! Fair warning, I haven't seen this in action yet, but I'm excited to test this combination.

  9. Really nice touch to have that infantry model in there to give scale.

This codex sounds awesome (or at least they make it sound awesome). Can we finally expect some more knight battles? I miss them so much.

  10. I wish you'd called out the absolute lack of synergy that the Tyrant has now. Like, how does it fit into the army now? It's all about War Dog and Abhorrent chassis. Heck, you can't even take most of the relics on the Tyrant
