  1. Having Gaunt ghost going to 110, taking into account that so many people used them as a sacrificial throw away unit for their infiltrator, I feel like 5 ratlings for 60 could be a great replacement in many situations.
Edit: I just now noticed that on the top corner it says "only 10 man squad".
Oh well, that changes everything and makes them significantly less interesting.
Without Lone Op I am not sure how you are meant to use them. The purpose of a glass canon is to smash something before getting smashed. These are more like a glass water gun.

  2. Man why did guard it crapped on? We got the aquilons who quite quickly got nuked but this data slate was brutal to them. And then the ratlings data sheets are shit! Cant give them orders and they dont get lethal hits. And only getting theor perks costs 120 points.

  3. Okay, now I'm a bit hyped for the new Tankbustas/Breaka Boyz. The new rules for them are definitely interesting and most of their weapons(well, the ones you're most likely to use) doing a flat 3 damage is really nice. Points could probably stand to come down a bit, but we'll see what happens after we can actually start using them.

  4. Pretty good all around. Breaka boyz will work great in War Horde with a warboss and in Dread Mob with a Big Mek; if you push da button you can get them to AP-4 which duting the waaagh will kill a land raider, and almost kill a knight. With a bomb squig and grenades you'll have a decent chance of killing either.

    Bit overcosted though.

  5. The standard Big Mek is possibly worth a look with Tankbustas, particularly in Dreadmob. If you really want to stack pain on a vehicle and have an appropriately cavalier attitude to Hazardous checks, combining his Kustom Mega Blasta with the Tankbustas abilities, the Pulsa Rokkit and the AP buff will probably result in a quite dead vehicle and several dead Tankbustas. You can use his Shokk booster to teleport straight through a solid wall to get the shot, and then there's always the option of a charge with the Nob's hammer and the Mek's Drilla for a bit more damage in an emergency. Whilst this will almost certainly get the unit killed, in all honesty Tankbustas led by a SAG Big Mek will almost certainly be Public Enemy No 1 for any armoured opponent and aren't likely to live much longer. (EDIT, the SAG version is actually slightly cheaper, so make of that what you will!)

  6. Ufthak can only lead boyz and nobz which made me sad, but if Breakaz can be led by any unit that can lead boyz, that means you can take him with them. That gives rerolls to hit and wound against Titanic units, and deep strike to the whole unit. Knight players beware.

  7. I knew the Tank Bustas were gonna be over costed. They're just a bunch of Rokkits that are… fine. They work alright and with the pulsa might even take out a Rhino out of cover in one turn of shooting….horaaaayy.

I was hoping for a deffgun equivalent or something. But at least they split it & gave us a couple options rather than forcing us to two rokkits a tank hammer & the rokkit pistols like the old tank bustas kit.

Hopefully they'll get pts drops. If the Breakas came down to 21 to 23 pts/model range i would probably run swat teams of them & 5 flash gits in a trukk. Run the trukk up, chase people or tanks w/ the breakas and let my flash gits hold the point

  8. I took a unit of Ratlings to an RTT this last Saturday, and frankly they surprised me. They were able to pick off 2 Intercessors and block some Assault Centurions in on turn 1, and somehow managed to survive both the Assault Centurion’s guns and 3 boltrifles, needing a stormbolter from a Land Raider to finish them off.

They need to go down to 50 for 5, or less, but you can’t go wrong with a unit or two.
