  1. I think the artillery you're thinking about from The Clone Wars movie/show was the SPHAAT, which apart from looking rather goofy was actually carrying a laser that was a prototype of the Death Star's laser.

  2. Perhaps you can take the Arc Hammer fleet and push to Commenor through Zeltros.
Although we have no idea what kind of defenses there is orbiting Zeltros, you'd save a lot of time rather than calling back the Allegiance to Kuat through all those systems… or risking it by going back to Commenor, with no garantee that it would retreat in the right direction this time.

  3. 7:54 yes, these are the walkers from the Clone Wars. The beam weapons they had were used to take down ships as you said. However they got retrofitted later on and during the time of the Empire. Instead, the gun was modified to fire heavy arching projectiles as the original version required direct line of sight to be used as an artillery piece (you can figure out the issues with that). It was so effective in its role the Empire decided to keep that version and just simply upgrade the weapons system over time. So yes, the gun it has was designed for what you described, but was retrofitted and modified for a more traditional artillery role.

  4. i haven't seen the liberation since early in my campaign, i can only assume it died to the black sun at some point, i know the ais had a huge fight over kessel so maybe that was it

  5. That's an H-type transport. Pre-imperial if i'm not mistaken. The company went bust before it could be imperialized, so the design is kind of lost, but it still sees use in some backwater spacelanes.

The ship featured heavily on an old Rebel training sim, "X-Wing Alliance". We managed to apprehend a few copies and it was used on some academies for a while, maybe some of the most veteran joystick jockeys on the Fear's Embrace flight deck remember it.

  6. Shack spending time with the community instead of pandering to YT is one of the major reasons we support him.
Also, Shack on 2 cups of coffee is best Shack. You can't change my mind.

Wow, the Rebels are being aggressive. I guess Vadar will have to cleave a path north in order to protect Kuat.

  7. Imp Rep 57 – The process of cleaning up the various pockets continues. General Veers has successfully completed the capture of Bonadan from the Corporate Sector and reports that the organization only retains two planets in the region. The battle on Bonadan wasn't serious, though one AT-AT took minor damage from an emplaced heavy laser cannon that had open flanking shots on it… but outside of that, the losses on the planet weren't serious. The more worrying news from that region is that one of the two remaining planets the Corporate Sector controls has a fairly substantial fleet over it and one that might be able to handle what forces Captain Pellaeon commands in space. Prudance would dictating taking time to build up at least some auxiliary ships to support the fleet while also organizing forces for a strike. Though, given Black Sun and Rebel activity… speed may be more important to allow for the Corporate Sector worlds to have the buffer to be built up into a regional fortress system. This may require moving the Star Dreadnought from Lianna to Pellaeon's fleet to secure that world.

In the meantime, Lord Vader has secured the capture of Abregado-Rae. He did not go in with the ground troops and remained on the Devastator 2 as the fight went on. From the reports that came in, the Black Sun was well dug in, but seemed to expect more of a blind rush, while Commodore Shed and Lord Vader agreed to a more siege minded mentality, mostly in expectation that the defense would be stronger. Reports came in that Imperial heavy artillery units spent hours bombarding criminal infantry into submission while allowing the lighter infantry to essentially shield them and allow for a slow but systematic advance. Lord Vader was also given time to look over the situation that had led to the creation of the Fondor pocket in the first place, and with the last forces from Abregado-Rae returning, it would seem that the Byss Defense Fleet will be moved to then handle the other shoulder of the advance and thus better protect the core before departing for the fighting on Hoth… where that sector has gone very quiet.

The biggest news has so far come out of the other areas in the core. The Rebels have managed to secure the orbit of a world to our northeast, though the garrison also managed to destroy some of the Rebel carriers. We await reports on a ground attack there… but amidst this there was some good news, and this comes from Commenor. The small Kaut defense fleet launched a rapid strike against the Rebel fleet on Commenor and despite being outnumbered managed to inflict heavy losses on the Rebels. They lost all their carriers and one of their shield ships was also destroyed. The force commander even reported thinking some ground targets in space were also destroyed, and that will be good news. He lost some escorts, but the compared prices are very different and much in the Empire's favor. While the fleet didn't flee back to Kaut, it is probable that the planet will be secure for the time being. Time will tell… – Ensign Jaeger Meister, ISD Devastator 2.

  8. I've always thought a cool artillery idea for the empire would be a heavily modified ATAT where the troop cabin was taken out and replaced with a large artillery gun, and the main cannons of the walker were replaced with more anti infantry blasters

  10. A key for the raiders to survive is to keep them moving. The enemy loves to target them and their bombs will hit if they don't move.
I love that shed is setting up a manufacturing base in the back of Corsec. A headcannon for the battle at Quellor is that it's another example of imperial admials incompetence. wanting glory and underetimating the enemy force the local admiral in charge orders the vulnerable freighters with much needed supplies through the front while they engaged the rebels. Leading to a loss of life and much needed supplies for the war effort.

  11. is the tabletop against just you and some friends where you control the enemy? i think perhaps having two armies of players or even more be awesome. it would be super hard but even doing a hunger games type thing with hundreds of people would be cool. though like i said that would be nearly impossible to make fair with such massive globs of people

  12. With the Kuat fleet for speed you can send it to Corellia and use the hyperspace line to get it back to Coruscant then to Kuat as it will be faster on the hyperspace lines but it more micro.

  13. Yeah, I had tried to be all clever and put mortars in the bunkers, same deal. I think any of the AV squads can't, nor can any of the "accessory" units that come with other actual squads.
