I like his commentary now. At first it was annoying. It's pretty witty and funny.
You should join the brotherhood as well as do the quests you have encountered in diamond city. Do your settlement bits. Accept all of the quests early. This will help you find the other factions. Later the game will let you know when you are doing specific irreversible actions that lock you out of factions.

Get the local leader perks so you can build a gun shop and buy ammo at your base. Farm fruit and clean water daily for trade.
I still say Josh needs to go to the Salem Museum of Witchcraft and do that mission
There is a cannon you can find and use as a weapon. I think it’s on the USS Constitution.
You have to do Dan's mission. That you passed up earlier in the game…
43:10 I’m pretty sure that’s the 🧐 “ufo” crash sequence. So you have a crashed alien ship now in the world 😂 good luck finding it. Also, piper needs 1 round and no other guns but the one you want her to use. Take the other guns away and ammo. Just give her one gun and 1 piece of ammo for said gun. She doesn’t need anything else. Technically. 💜
Always out of ammo? You do realize that you can sell things like that nuke launcher and just plain buy a bunch of ammo right?

There is a mod that lets you fire the cannons…or at least there used to be.
There is a second floor to Fort Strong, but you can't access the lower level unless you have a mission from the Brotherhood.
There is like a 1% or .5% chance you can get the perfect pie from the machine. Mods made that a better chances of course. heh.
If that noise was what I think it was, you can find it near the train tracks to the west. (There is a settlement nearby also) North of Vault 81.

Is great to have Fallout 4 back! And about the cannons, there is actually a usable cannon weapon! You get it as reward of certain quest!
And what great ending for the episode, Josh and Pips watching the gorgeous vista and sniping baddies.
