  30. I’ll help you out. The desert is associated with demons and the underworld and high strangeness, forever. In Scripture, the explanation is because it’s a place of death. It’s a place that living creatures die in, it’s hostile to the living/life. And that, biblically, represents the turf of spiritual darkness and Satan. Why? Because he is the Lord of the dead. His tripwire for Eve and Adam brought death to the living. Brings death to the living. Beelzebub – lord of the flies, lord of death – Azazel.
