Netflix lost almost 1m subscribers between April and July, as the number of people quitting the service accelerated.
But that was not as many as the streaming giant had feared, with the firmβs chief executive, Reed Hastings, saying that popular shows such as Stranger Things may have prevented a further slide in subscriptions.
The company reported its first subscriber loss since 2011 in April, news that was followed by hundreds of job cuts and a sharp drop in its share price.

Maybe if they didn't cancel amazing shows. Examples, I'm not Okay with This, The Santa Clarita Diet, Luke Cage and many MANY more that i can't remember the name of because they were cancelled after only ONE season. Netflix is the service you want if you want seasons with no ending. They even purchase old shows that were cancelled with no ending and don't continue it. Why buy an unfinished show?! Not to mention that it takes YEARS for them to upload episodes and seasons from AMC shows like Better Call Saul and The Walking Dead. We've heavily been considering cancelling Netflix as well. Lately, we've been watching HULU more often anyways. π
