I’m your host, Darren Van Dam!

Tired of looking for good movies to watch on Netflix, Amazon Prime or other streaming services? Every week I recommend a handful of the best movies on Netflix, Amazon, HBO etc. so my subscribers never run out of good movies to watch on streaming. Spending 10 minutes watching one of my videos could save you hours of searching, hours that you could otherwise spend watching good movies on streaming that you otherwise might not have ever watched or even known about.

Thanks for watching!

  2. Such an uotstanding list. I really like that you introduce us to movies that are not the usual suspects. Per your recommendation, I watched "What happened to Monday" and I loved it. I have been putting it off, even though you have recommended before, but this time I watched it and I'm glad I did. It is pretty good and Noomi Rapace delivered as usual. Keep up the great work bro!

  3. I am sorry. I can't stand foreign language films , either dubbed or with subtitles. Just can't watch. The dubbed fms have horrible voice actors and I am not being distracted by reading subtitles.

  4. even though the movie is a fantasy/sci-fi, the Wandering Earth could never happen. first off, putting giant booster rockets on the alleged planet in order to propel it into space would never work. the rockets need something to push off in order for it to move. as space is a alleged to be a vacuum, so there's nothing the rockets can ''push'' from so that the earth can travel. on earth, rockets take off from the solid ground and once in flight, it propels or pushes itself through the air. if its undersea rockets, the material that the rockets push off from is the water.

  5. If you like cowboy bebop you'll love space sweepers
GAMER is basically a modern take on Running Man
Arq was great Robbie Amell does great like in Code 8
Wandering Earth was such a major movie especially in China they even got Andy Lau in for the sequel.

  8. Good night. I really liked your video. I didn't know Netflix had so much to offer. The inability to find shows on Netflix is one of its greatest weaknesses. If you have watched Gray Matter I would love to know your thoughts.

  10. Thanks for these lists, they help so much!

Starship Troopers was made years too early. It satirizes things which Verhoeven already saw in American culture, but which most of us didn't see or were in denial about until 9/11 and the ensuing GWOT, Fox News, and such made it brutally blatant and relevant.

I mean, he already saw it. The 1993 WTC bombing and our military reaction to it … most of us didn't pay much attention to it because we were too busy enjoying the 90s. But he saw it. So did Bin Laden. Bin Laden knew he could start a whole big war, and in 2001 he did it.

Verhoeven's vision with Starship Troopers was horrifyingly prescient, but also it wasn't just some random lucky unintended guess.

  11. The other thing about low budget Sci fi. Less chance of losing money. Sci fi has a limited fan base, and most big studios won't touch it because they risk losing money. Same with Sci Fi TV. How many series have been canned in mid arc, because the viewing ratings weren't up to their demands? Greed baby, greed outweighs making good sci fi.
