Video Description:
If you’ve ever had an outbreak of Shingles, you know how painfully debilitating it can be. On a pain scale of one to ten, with ten being the most severe, patients commonly describe their pain between a level eight to twenty, meaning the pain can feel Beyond severe, Beyond miserable.
Well, just a few months ago, I was unexpectedly Struck Down by the Shingles Monster, and YES! It was a beast!! This gave me the opportunity to experience firsthand what many of our patients go through. Honestly, it was an experience I never want to repeat.

Needless to say, this motivated Dr M & I to dive deeper into the research than we ever have on this topic.

Today’s video is important to everyone. It doesn’t matter if you’ve never had a shingles outbreak, because statistics show shingles will affect one out of three adults. That’s one third of the adult population, over 330 million people.

  1. I came down with fibromyalgia over 20 years ago. The stress of that and no viable remedies I then came down with shingles. My 1st symptom was pain in my foot and ankle like a burning skin sensation. It lasted a week and then I got a rash on my left butt cheek. I thought spider bite. Waited to go to doctor for a week but it was getting worse. He said shingles and there was nothing he could do. I continued with that every other month when my left ovary would ovulate causing a body stress. I went on like this until the 1st shingles shot years later helped a little. I took antivirals and that helped but the best was the second shingles shot about 4 years ago. I only suffer if I get overly stressed. I try to avoid stress. Limit people, news, gossip etc. I find my best pain reliever to be magnesium. I meditate, yoga, red light therapy, walking dogs, feeding wildlife, reading non stressful books etc. I do feel like I am always running a fever. I get way over heated beyond what others feel. I think that is a fever that continues to fight my shingles. Im 66. Wouldn't wish this on a single soul. Peace be with you.

Is it safe and how good is to prevent it? Do you recommend it? How effective is to avoid Shingle infection and how often one need to re-vaccinate…. especially for elderly people? Thank you

  4. ❤i use a 9volt battery rub around the area or get wires hooked up to it and run around for about 5 min.
    .the sooner the better.
If blistered allready the blisters will dry up and no more pain.
If as you feel them coming on you get it early and it wont blister. No more pain
Dont worry ,most people think im nuts….but some have tried it to find out it works…now THEY are the nuts telling others….

  6. I got mine and the most painful thing I've ever experienced. Mine was actually diagnosed as internal shingles, which turned into a phn and allodynia. I couldn't wear clothes. I had to use a shingle cream and saran wrap my torso. My doctor didn't give me the anti-virus meds, grrr. It took over a year to heal. And even today still have some stinging and burning with some electrical shocks. It was prednisone that helped me come alive again, and I did take other meds before that as well, and got the shingrix shots. It's no joke. It would be good if the doctor here could talk about the phn and allodynia. Cold 🥶 water has become my best friend that helps calm the nerves and relieves the pain.
Let me add, thank u nerve doctors for it was ur channel that supplied the right nerve supplements(I use nutricost amazon to help start the process of regenerating my neuropathy in my feet amazing benefits…Lyons mane mushroom, turkey tale mushroom, alpha lypoic acid, and the berberine for diabetes… thank u so much!

  7. Got shingles in July 2023. The blisters are all gone except scars and constant pain in left shoulder where I got the shingles. I dread the bed at nights, as the pain comes on wnen I lay down and worse in the morning when I get up – I literally have to take my right hand and lift my left hand up, however, during the course of the day the pain subsides dramitacally and I have no problem performing my daily chores. Will the Nuphoria Gold heal this long lasting nerve pain?

  8. I am curious as to why did you not recommend the shingles shot. I got the 1st shot and years later had a mild case on my right hip. My doctor wants me to get the newest version. What is your opinion?

  9. I still suffer from.PHN after being struck by shingles around ny left torso in dec 2023. Stress & lack of sleep due to a persistent cough weakened my immune system. I wonder if the virus got into my right lung coz i felt there was something obstructing it that i just needed to cough out. The unbearable pain was due to what i thought was abdominal muscle spasm due to coughing. I had to be brought to ER. The most terrifying pain though that sent me screaming was the sharp stabbing pain like i was being cut by a hot seared knife. I stopped medication due to the side effects & am turning to holistic healing methids. I am 75 yrs old from the philippines where there is lots of sunshine.fortunateky, but i still take 50mg vit.D supplement among others. Thank you so much for this video which i will share to my famiky & friends.

  10. Hi Dr C, You are the answer to my prayers today. I feel blessed. 8 weeks now w trigeminal shingles all 3 branches and I know exactly what you have gone thru. It is so very slowly improving but signs are showing I may have it on the other side and Im terrified. First, should I be off Nuphoria gold while trying to recover from this? I stopped thinking I didnt want to promote pain by improving nerves while they are infested w zoster. 50 yr ret RN MSN here. Thinking my vit D is so low I cant heal. Will start your protocol now. using proper lysine dose, need more C and a couple other things. Anyway, glad you are doing well. Keep me in your prayers.

  12. My question is simply, "why the sudden increase in shingles?". From some of my own personal studies, our natural food supply is being compromised. The soils that our foods are grown in, are highly depleted of the nutrients that were once in the soils many years ago. From the 1920's, '30's, '40's and such, the soils were much more dense in proper nutrients. Now, everything is sprayed with pesticides, herbicides, etc., and the soils are simply not the same. So, if we aren't supplementing with the right vitamins and herbs, including herbal teas, I believe those deficiencies will definitely affect our immunities. This was a great video and hosted a wealth of information. Thank you for sharing.

  18. Doc, I feel your pain. I had an outbreak June 2023 and I have no idea what triggered it, unless it was general stress. I just don't fit the profile. It broke out on my forehead and on the side of my nose. I thought I was having an allergic reaction (due to swelling and being too sick to take good care of myself) but after suffering staggering pain for several days my daughter bundled me off to the ER where I was prescribed the usual antiviral regime. Once I was human again I put myself on a holistic protocol similar to yours, because I was terrified of another outbreak. I do still have have scarring, but no other pertinent nerve damage. Yay. Previously I refused the 💉, but I wonder if those that did consent are still shedding spike and other bio 🧨🏹🗡️ resulting in an assault on everyone's immune system?

  19. I got the shingles virus in mid October 2021. It lasted about four months. It started with itching on my back. Then it started to blister. I had to put a towel on the bed to keep from getting puss on the sheets. The pain that I went through was almost unbearable. If that wasn't bad enough it cause me get Peripheral Neuropathy in my lower legs and feet of which I'm still fighting. I've been taking just about everything known to man. Even though it's painful I still go for walks several times a week. I've not been able to workout like I was before I got shingles. Maybe some day I'll get back in the gym.

  20. Thank you for sharing your information and advice. So sorry this happened to you. I noticed in some of the latest videos that it looked like something had happened. Thank you for sharing your protocol with us. I will definitely will look into that and keep that information for the future. Every day I take Anti Viral pills with all natural ingredients from a local holistic store. I had a rash on my chest area not on one on both sides saw a physician's assistant and she said oh you have a rash and gave me a prescription that was $150 for a small tube. After I picked it up and looked at all the side effects I was very sad that I used one application. Did not help. I felt like I wanted to peel off my chest from all the itching it felt like it was electrically burning from the inside out and not being able to make it stop. The first time this happened was in 2018 and every once in a while at the same time of year I still have something happen but not as bad as that first go-round. But this whole time no one has said that I had shingles. Back in 1996 I had an allergic reaction to medication that was mislabeled by the pharmacist and spent a week in the hospital and almost died. The rash all over my body that felt just like the rash that I had in 2018 but I do not know if they are connected. When I was 6 months old as a baby I developed chicken pox. It was so bad my mom put socks on my hands and I have scars to this day. I'm definitely going to reevaluate the daily amount of supplements I'm taking based on your information such as vit D ect.

  21. I had two former colleagues contract shingles as adults and both of them said that it was triggered by chronically high stress at work, so it was interesting to see this confirmed in your video

  22. Lemon balm is THE BOMB for shingles. Coupled with L-Lysine, it can’t be beat. I used Urban ReLeaf Lysine & Lemon Balm Blister Soothing Gel (no connection to company) topically and both L-Lysine and lemon balm tea (yum!!) internally. Relief began immediately. Before I got the lemon balm products, I happened to have dried calendula flowers on hand. I made a tea with the flowers and dabbed the outbreaks with that. It was also quite helpful.

  23. Thank you for this educational video – it was really good. I experienced shingles after going through a stressful time in my life. I first thought I was bit by a spider on my right hip…this began to spread and it tingled and itched at first. My entire hip almost felt like it was numb except when the rash itched. When the pain started a day or two later – it was tremendous. I used a cotton ball to apply Dr. Tichenor's All Natural Peppermint Mouthwash Concentrate to my shingles rash. This helped to cool down the burning sensation. It really helped so much. But my biggest surprise to relieve the really harsh pinching and stabbing pains was to drink Coffee….yes coffee. I don't know how it worked but it did each time – it would take about 15 to 20 minutes after I'd start drinking my coffee…my pain would subside 85 to 90%. I don't know if anyone else has found this to work for them? But it sure did help me . I feel for anyone who's experienced this awful battle.
