  1. "Make this a straightaway" – does she not understand that the reason it was put there in there in the first place was because that street was basically a drag strip?

  2. Round a bouts are safer… What the city needs to do is place police officers and give someone speeding by without yielding charged with wreckless driving and get their license suspended for a month. Watch how imbecils slow down

  4. The neighborhood has the right to complain if cars are running into their homes at a deadly speed. It’s only a matter of time before something much worse happens.

  5. I think the neighbors do have legit concern, but i do not think a straightway with flashing light is going to make it better. Besides the fact that making a straight way would hit the people on crosswalks instead of homes. Speed bump, raised median, narrower street would work best

  6. Traffic circle. You mean "roundabout". Not difficult, I've been using them for 60 years. Never had an accident at one.
No one ever claimed that American drivers were smart or competent.

  7. "Traffic circles" suck. Everybody knows it's just bowing to the crazy EU crap. "look, we're so Euro now!". In Europe, the circles are WAY bigger, and more forgiving. What we install (at great taxpayer expense) are accidents waiting to happen and only serve to piss people off. Another "punish everyone to punish the few (like speed bumps)" tactic.

  8. Americans can’t drive. it’s not the traffic circle problem it’s the people who can’t drive. The news article clearly says “Drunk Drives”. ‘Speeding Cars”. You need to educate these young drives. I how is changing the circle going to stop “Drunk Drivers”. Put these punk millennial’s in jail.. and yes I live in Lemon Grove and I know what I am talking about.

  9. Speed bumps may be installed to slow people down, but they are not recognized as an official traffic control device, so the City is on the hook for any damage or accidents arising from them. The round about installed should have an raised area between the lane and the center circle, it’s called an apron, and allows moving trucks and delivery semis the ability to navigate the traffic circle. The bottom line on this street, like most others, is people speeding. Maybe get SDPD out for a directed enforcement for speed.

  10. Modern roundabouts are the safest form of intersections in the world. The curb design is intentional so that trucks can get through the intersection, and it is not flush as the person states. If signs slowed down drivers, traffic engineers would not have a job.

  11. LoL, so let’s accommodate stupid drivers…. Wow, how stupid can that lady be? How about no stop signs and no speed limit? If the drivers cause accidents let’s change the rules and street signs! Yeah, that is wisdom.

  12. The accident this past week was caused by a speeder going the wrong way on the street he was speeding and was being pursued by police. The problem is that that particular street was not designed for the amount of traffic that it now sees. It was designed to handle the residents that reside there but now it is used a a cut through from 54th Ave to get over to the college shopping center area.
