NC rescue helps black cats haunted by unlucky reputation

Dating back to medieval times, black cats have been stuck with a stigma full of superstitions, so their adoption rates are low, while the euthanasia rates are high.

  1. I've had several black cats, and I find their temperament to often be very kind and affection (maybe not in all black cats). Some of the most lovely creatures ever! Had a black chow/shep. dog and he was just as wonderful.

  2. I have my bottle fed, left on the streets to go to a shelter, right before I was flying home from FL, lying right next to me. He’s the most loving cat I’ve ever had. I love all animals. I try to get black and the one’s nobody will take. My Bell-Black Lab, had to be put down days after my father passed 😒 She was a mix but a Sweet Girl she was and Both forever missed. My Cat Boo is 16 and strong πŸ’ͺ ❀

  3. It's ignorance being spread by witches who need to repent before it's too late.
North Carolina still has many modern day witches. They look like normal women, but they go home to their tarot cards and sage, and then they start putting curses and spells on their neighbors and coworkers. SHUT DOWN THE METAPHYSICAL SUPPLY SHOPS!! WITCHES NEED TO REPENT OR LEAVE. WE REBUKE WITCHCRAFT IN JESUS CHRIST'S NAME!!!

  7. About two months ago, someone threw a black baby kitten outside of my house. It was raining and cold. It's eyes where barley opened. I don't have anything for a baby kitten. She was cold and hungry. I did what I could and now I have nine cats. I have had several cats come down through my house. Some people know that I will take them in. I pay out of my pocket for vet care, spay and neuter, and feed them. I don't get any money from anyone or organization. My local SPCA doesn't take in cats from my area only has a contract from the city in my county. I don't get paid for this. I have re-homed about 50 cats and kittens outside of my county. I have kept the ones that would be euthanized like a three legged cat, one with neurological issues, and one that is blind. I have TNR several more all out of my pocket. So a little black baby kitten is home for now because I know that it would be a high risk for euthanasia. So she is happy at home with her new playmates. Living the high life.
