  2. As to maintenance, if you look at MMHPFH, even the F-35B and F-35C have lower hours than legacy land-based fighters.
    F-35A currently is 5.4 MMHPFH
    F-35B is 7.8
    F-35C is at its highest right now so far at 9.7 hrs.

    F/A-18E has been between 14-28hrs over the years.
    F-14A/B/D was always 40-60hrs, which was a hangar queen.
    AV-8B has been 40-60hrs as well, very difficult to maintain.
    All 3 F-35 variants are a dream to maintain, almost too easy for guys that were looking to get their hands dirty. Airframe life is also unusually-high for a fighter.
