Navy Boat Rams Into Ferry Near Gateway Of India In Mumbai; Death Toll Reaches 13, 101 Rescued



A ferry carrying 110 people capsized near Mumbai’s Gateway of India on Dec 18. Thirteen died, including three Navy personnel. A naval speed-craft on trials reportedly rammed the ferry after its engine malfunctioned. Rescue operations involving Navy, Coast Guard, and Marine Police saved 101 lives. CM Fadnavis announced ₹5 lakh ex gratia.

  2. Why was the testing done by the navy in such a congested section of the sea….. were safety procedures followed and if so do they need to be reviewed. How about passenger ferry did it have life jackets for all… was it over loaded… both need to be thoroughly investigated and reported to people without prejudice.

  3. If I say people will mistake. Indian army don't know how to drive helicopter and boats as well. You see srilankan catches all Tamil Nadu fishermen but Indian Navy don't catch even refugees
