Kurita got the hell out of there because he knew he had maybe 24 hours until that entire area was crawling with US Navy ships. Half the entire US Navy would be looking for him, and we knew where he was.

The USS JOHNSTON DD-557 also fought this battle let by The Chief himself CDR Ernst Evans.
An Japanese Officer was seen saluting the JOHNSTON as she sank, in respect to ferocity and tenacity of CDR Evan and his crew aboard the USS JOHNSTON DD-557.

There where battle ships that been at pearl harbor in suarigao strait and played a manger part in the battle but you didn't bother to even say a thing about them.
