Embark on an extraordinary voyage across the cosmos as we uncover the remarkable saga of NASA’s Ingenuity helicopter. Against all odds, Ingenuity has etched its name in history by completing an astonishing 72 flights on the surface of the Red Planet, far surpassing its initial goal of just five flights. But Ingenuity’s journey doesn’t end there. Despite facing numerous challenges, this little helicopter has been repurposed as a long-term data gathering station, poised to capture invaluable information about the Martian landscape and climate. With its sensors and memory capacity estimated to last up to 20 years, Ingenuity promises to be a treasure trove of scientific discovery, providing insights into the mysteries of our neighboring planet for years to come. Join us as we delve into the wonders of space and celebrate the achievements of Ingenuity, a true testament to the power of human innovation and determination

Humans go extinct before we get to it and in 10000 years some alien species finds it
I’m surprised they haven’t put any big satellites or anything up there. Like relay systems
I can already see the sad animation about this one, nooo, the first one hurt enough
How did they send it that command if we can’t communicate with it?
The robot breaking its rotor, thinking its dead.
Nasa: It ain't over yet, my little friend!
The chances are not zero that something falls out of the sky ONTO it in the next 20 years
Was it made by Boeing?
Mars finna be a landfill with all the dead rovers. Gonna have to send a robot to get the other robot and bring that bihh back to earth.
Can't it send the data wirelessly?
I love this, when hardware breaks and can't be used for its intended purpose, it being reprogrammed for a new purporse despite the obstacles. I want to see the day damaged and obsolete consumer electronics are practical for end user to repurpose in the same way, for example.a laptop with a broken screen becoming a NAS instead of going in the trash. Though the motivation doesn't exist for that on earth. It's only the pragmatic option for space projects because it's the ONLY option and they have good software dev funding
It's farther away than Earth, but there's no magnetic field and not nearly the same amount of atmosphere. What I'm wondering is will there be any kind of bit rot issues due to cosmic rays, or does NASA always use resistant hardware even if it was only "supposed" to be good for three flights.
What!? Sooo cool… We'll definitely get that data one day. I cant wait!
Next flying thing will swing past and grab the data.
if we can beam the command to it, why can't we get data back off it?
"Alright little dude we'll give you something to do so you don't get bored out there"
Will the radiation environment allow the memory chips last 20 years?
A great pity but what a bonus it has been.
How much would it cost in time and materials to repair it
I'll go and get it. Brb.
I’m sure getting that data will take some….ingenuity 😎
You should have left ese detalle C-creto pues now beckons xinxanxûn to get a linky to ASAN by clutching it.
It'll come handy to Matt Damon when he gets stuck in Mars in future
Surveyor 3 was visited. So…
oy vey
I didnt know Mars Had Flys…😂😂
What the hell they even do with the data?
It would take some out of this world ingenuity.
I'll get my ladder and save your toy son
The little helicopter that could
Once we set foot on the martian lands, we'll look back fondly at ingenuity. Don't worry little buddy, we're coming for ya
When NASA makes stuff, it works
Iirc it's not designed to handle the temperature changes of Mars days without the support of the rover, not to mention the other weather events, sand storms in particular. I would be amazed if it lasts even 5 years
I dont care how long it takes, one day we have to bring it home.
I thought ingenuity had a data transmitter on board?
doubt it. even if we go there, its gonna be covered by the time we get there.
Why cant it send info back to earth? Transmitter broke? NASA was able to send the final command soooo??
I think they should have named it persevirance insted of the rover
i dont know why science people always look unkempt.. its not rocket science to look presentable at least
Is there a chance it can spin up only one layer of rotors to attempt to clean dust off of the solar cell?
until the solar panels get so dusty that they no longer generate enough energy to keep it charged.
We should try to amputate the other side of the broken rotor and see if she can still fly
