  9. Wow’ in the nineteen fifties they sure thought big. A moon base and Project Orion exemplified that type of thinking? In contrast to those halcyon days, everything has become incredibly small and second rate? One can make a reasonable argument that the US reached its peak when Neil Armstrong set foot on the moon on July 20, 1969? Since that time, America has gone down the drain? It has now reached the point where math and science is now looked upon as being white supremacist by the WOKE crowd that runs our institutes of higher learning? Which only proves that the future belongs to the Middle Kingdom where they still value science and education!

  14. NASA destroyed tech that cost billions after they went to the moon in the 1960’s on their first try. Will anyone ever be held accountable in USA government for anything? Aside from Blagoyavich or Trafficant?

  17. The early scifi stories I read that predated the space race spoke about a potential cause of war if any one nation launched the first satellite that could drop hardware upon their enemies below. Didn't happen…I think. Too obvious? What were the military plans at the time, I wonder.

  20. The "Russians" ? Really ? The real threat to Americans is the Eff'Bee'Eye. The Russians haven't been Depreciating our currency have they ? The Scott Key Bridge wasn't destroyed by the Russians. The Twin Towers wasn't just Osama.

  37. So it shows that the US could not wait to start a war (as they like to) on the Moon with the rational that those Russkies must not be allowed etc etc. Here we are 8 decades later and they are still at it.

  39. I've seen those one kiloton nuclear bomb shot out of a small cannon in action! But we were so paranoid in the 1950s, right after McCarthyism! There were Communists in the closet, Communists under the bed! And then we had the confrontation in Cuba in the early 60s! It was a paranoid era, and we are returning to that kind of mass thinking!
