I would love to be part of the community of scientists who can discover things in space. It is also important to note that despite this potential, there are risks ahead, as we here on earth do not want things falling from the sky. Without the sun, the earth would be covered in ice and nobody would be able to survive. Drilling too much reduces the earth's size. The more we drill, the smaller we become.
NASA leaks things like this to grab more of the national budget. For all practical purposes we are alone in the universe. The main thing we will learn from exploring the solar system and beyond, is that we really dont know much at all.

Radio Waves would be inefficient to send between Galaxies. It would take light a very long time to travel here. Unless of course they are using some other technology to send it I am not familiar with.
