If China has the foresight, vision, and intelligence to know that our future as a species relys on exploration and expansion then what's the problem? The united states has a brutal history of "claiming" territory as does every civilization. If us Americans can't get it together our country will be gone soon enough. A portion of our population has been indoctrinated, fooled, and tricked by an egomaniac so the moon shouldn't be our concern. When our government priorities change every 4-8 years so NASA will never be a priority even though it should. And seeing as though a large portion of our citizens believe a godman walked on water,turned it into wine, and fairy tales I don't think science and facts really matter.
