I’m born and raised in Southern California and literally never think about earthquakes. We can only control what we can control and Mother Nature doesn’t take orders. The S.A. Fault slides against each other instead of one sliding under and recent studies indicate that damage wouldn’t be as bad.
Is the San Andreas Fault connected to the fault related to the subduction zone north of it?

Earthquakes can be FORECAST, and have been with greater accuracy than local weatherman/woman. The procedure was even published in order to permit replication by those interested in real science. One would think that professors would add a chapter to their textbooks using the published forecasting method (free of charge with crediting source) to save face in the long run.

I thought it was 1902. I saw liquification in San Diego. In Escondido the biggest quake l experienced was the Easter quake. In 2007 we were surrounded by the Witch Creek Fire. I left California last year. However now in Virginia people are telling me about the quake they had here in 2011.. not sure of the date on that.
