NASA finally realized the journey to Mars is BEST using Starship instead of any others…
Picture this: the Martian horizon, a dusty red expanse under a faintly pink sky. You step out of your habitat and immediately squint against the harsh sunlight. Finding a good pair of sunglasses might not seem like a priority for interplanetary explorers, but it’s a small detail that encapsulates the broader challenge of preparing for life on Mars.
However, none of these challenges are insurmountable. The key lies in having advanced tools and equipment capable of addressing every aspect of survival as we venture to a new frontier like Mars. Starship is one of the most suitable vehicles, seemingly born for this mission.
So, in today’s episode of Alpha Tech, let’s dive into the potential solutions Starship offers to make the journey to Mars more achievable than ever before!

Before diving into specific solutions, I would like to tell you the real reason Starship was created.
Starship is a fully reusable heavy-lift launch vehicle currently under development by Elon Musk’s company, SpaceX.
Many years ago, Elon Musk made a significant donation to fund the Mars Desert Research Station and briefly served on its board of directors. However, at a certain point, he decided that he wasn’t interested in being involved in someone else’s project—he wanted to take the lead himself.
At the time, Musk was already quite wealthy from his success with PayPal and was contemplating what to do with the rest of his life. He identified two critical goals: making solar energy a mainstream reality and sending humans to Mars.

Many scientists supported the idea of Mars exploration, but the business case for solar energy was more straightforward. If it could compete with fossil fuels, it would prevail. Anyone with a credible business plan could find investors to pursue solar energy. Mars, on the other hand, required a broader vision.
Ultimately, Musk decided to pursue both goals while also starting an electric car company.
Returning to the topic at hand, Musk realized that opening the space frontier required drastically reducing the cost of reaching orbit—a goal achievable only through the reuse of launch vehicles.
Imagine this: a Boeing 737 costs roughly $100 million and carries about 100 passengers. If the plane were discarded after every flight, a single ticket would cost around $1 million, just to cover the cost of the aircraft. Instead, passengers can fly for a few hundred dollars per ticket, depending on the destination, because airplanes are reusable. Launch vehicles, however, are not—at least, not yet.

  1. I see a different vision.
That early Mars mission architecture may look like this, but that we will likely start serious Lunar mining
and construction operations and decide we need a Lunar Space Elevator program. to cut the lift costs on Lunar resources. After this, Mars is the next obvious step up in gravity wells, and we will start building Space Elevators there too. And with this experience, then be able to tackle Earth's gravity well with an elevator.

And once you have those, chemical lift is only used on primitive planets.
Also as I once described, we could build feed wire elevators on the Moon, and 3D print Yuge! Transit Ships in lunar orbit that were designed to service multi planet elevator based Civilization,
And serve points farther that had their own lift vehicle system to rondesvous with the transit Cargo or passenger Heinleiners.

Rocket based Colonies will be considered primitives.

And we will likely have FTL way sooner than we think.

    So I suggest we start
designing and building big hulls, so when we have a better way to motor them, we dont need 50 years to get the hulls built.
We can already have them orbiting and traveling between planets, and can refit them for interstellar…

Might be good to have a running contest, for practical architecture of 3D printed ships?
Say a yearly competition for the best new concepts?
Also could compete for designs for orbital Space Elevator tube manufacturing factory systems….

    Just sayin'

  2. perfecting, "STAR SHIP", from here to moon-Base, like "clockwork" and a normal routine, by then,, THE A.I's, will have "MARS COLONY "1", UP AND RUNNING,, AND READY FOR US TO ARRIVE IN "STAR SHIP",, 😎😎😎

  3. YES, I agree more tht SpaceX of Elon Musk Spacecraft will be our transportation journey in Mars, the Red planet. I said this passages whn NASA'S news abt 'curiosity rover' has detected methane w/c here on Earth is primary produced by living organisms leading to potential life on the planet also in Red-planet, MARS.
Mr. Genius Elon Musk 🌟 reminds me of my fav German-American Aero-engg Wernher Von Braun. His wisdom and work were highly inspiring, like Mr. Genius Elon 🌟🚀✨️
    Thank U 🌟Have a nice Sunday🙏

  4. I am at the beginning of my "investment journey", planning to put 385K into dividend stocks so that I will be making up to 30% annually in dividend returns. any good stock recommendation on great performing stocks or Crypto will be appreciated!!
