NASA B777 Prepares to Leave for Modification

The addition of a Boeing 777 to NASA’s science fleet brings a large platform for the newest laboratory in the sky. A team of NASA Earth Science Division Airborne Science Program’s best engineers, led by Martin Nowicki and Tyler Thompson, has been formed from across the agency to get the aircraft ready to study science from the air. The maintenance and modifications required to bring the aircraft into service by FY2025 will be taking it to Louisiana and Texas to be outfitted over approximately the next year.
