After capturing Alexandria in a single morning, he and his troops endure a gruelling march across the desert headed for Cairo to defeat their fearsome new enemies and the ruling warlords of Egypt – the Mamelukes.

The time period covered in this episode is May 1798 to July 1798.

  2. Another excellent and well-voiced video! If the account of Napoleon’s reaction upon discovering the truth about Josephine’s adultery is accurate, then I genuinely feel so sorry for him. I cannot comprehend how Napoleon could forgive her after such a betrayal. If I was in Napoleon’s shoes, I would have divorced her as soon as possible. I suppose I’ll have to wait to understand his reasoning for why he stayed with her…
