Myth the Fallen Lords sends you and the forces of Light on a marathon to the east in a last ditch effort to save the last free city and stop the Dark in a blaze of tactical action. But what lies beneath?

THE LIST – https://docs.google.com/spreadsheets/d/1_K3ziSxT9zcUUGCddS4sF1uNJTWHSbOwB1CQX2Rx4Uo
I haven't posted the List in a while since I've been playing a lot of email catchup. I'm still way behind but it's getting more manageable. Berserkers in this video are also physically larger than they should be, but ONLY in the Myth 1 clips and none from 2's campaign. This was caused from enabling the TFL gameplay option, but why it's doing that on my version I have no idea. It shouldn't be an issue for the Myth 2 video apparently since all TFL stuff was off. Magic.
Also NO WONDER the story is so intricate. It's a Bungie game.
Warhammer Dark Omen and Shadow of the Horned Rat next?
causality – sounds like Jack Nicholson lol I adored these games back in the day right from the first free demo in a PC magazine. The voice of that dwarf saying yeah! was always so satisfying . The Game was brutal difficult but soooo good
The fallen, the darkness, the last city, the nine?? Just when I think Bungie's allusions couldn't run any deeper.
Really cool video about a really cool game I obviously never got to play, really well timed watch for me.
was this copied from the Malazan Book of the Fallen or was it the other way around?
This game really did have a legendary atmosphere and story, which is not done proper and full justice in a 30 minute video. I'd encourage anyone who has the patience to tolerate some late 90's jankiness to find a way to play it. The lore doesn't disappoint
29:13 You've heard it in the Sight of Evil spell from Dungeon Keeper. Dungeon Keeper video coming?!
Casualty.
Sounds amazingly good actually. Why do older games have much more interesting lore and stories and presentation?
Who are the nine though?
I and my brother played its sequel, Soublighter. The RTT made this very enjoyable.
I see what you did in the description… Very clever. 😎👉👉
"some development to get here" show warcraft 3 custom map squidward escape map "gay bar" minigame.
Pic RTS 👌
Wow I can't beleive Myth, my favorite 'rts' is #17 in trending. Right after Cruelty Squad was a few days ago. Both are obscure games that deserve the spotlight. For those who haven't played Myth/ Myth 2 you 100% should. You can play thru the campaign with like 16 friends if you so wish. You can choose what units you control. I beat Myth 2 with a friend of mine last year, one level at a time with no saves during the level allowed, and it was so much fun.
Myth 2 also has a lot of awesome mods as well. World War 1, 2 mods, like 3 civil war mods. Also has full length cam[paigns made by the community, like a whole new game. Also tons of fun in multiplayer.
Damn, this would make for one hell of a D&D campaign.
Sounds like they got Marty o donnell to do the music
Great review as always! I love your videos! I found it a few years ago (two? three?) at christmas and it hit just the right spot. Keep it up!
Its crazy that you already did Kingdom Under Fire, because I was always reminded of Myth back when I first played it so long ago. The absolute nonsense lore wrapped up in a package of fantasy so generic that 99% of people would never even recognize it for the craziness it actually is.
I feel like kenshi was designed specifically for you.
Mandy Lives stomp Stomp
Rage is such a great answer😂
This is an absolutely fantastic review and I'm invested in what's going on in Myth 2… But you've also resurrected some uncomfortable memories of Thomas and the Magic Railroad and I'm not sure how to deal with them.
Yesssss, Myth at last!
there used to be some fun vids of behind the scenes from making myth2, looks to have been a fun place to work, talented and nice people
Never expected to see Canned Bread as a clip in a Mandalore video. Probably should have
I remember playing a demo of this way back when and i've always had it stuck in my head. But had completely forgotten the title. Thanks for finally solving the mystery that has been plaguing me for decades
I appreciate when you make videos on video games I had never even imagined existed. Myth sounds like it has a lot of incredible stories to tell from a strange Fantasy world but the gameplay looks to be something I wouldn't have the stamina or patience for because of how current games are tailor made with anti-frustration measures and how pampered I have become because of it.
This looks awful.
Oh, I remember playing the demo for this on my step dad's 1995 Performa 5200. It ran surprisingly well, considering this was a Pentium 1 class CPU and no 3D acceleration. But then, this was Bungie, so …
This game deserved a remaster. Thank you for video.
Oh, I remember how hard it was, when I was a kid. Great game btw.
When boners attack only head can save the day
Still have these on my old mac
If there's one game that's crying out for a complete modern remake, it's this one. If Bungie can pull themselves away from running Destiny II into the ground for a bit, they should do it.
The names of the difficulties, the tone of the setting, the Siege of Madrigal (both the event and the track), a desperate fight in a losing war, and an unknowable evil?
Those pathways you mentioned at the end, they lead into darkness, don't they?
so from knowing nothing about this, we have a cryptic head that is apparently ancient and a guy who reincarnates himself into becoming the bbeg who gets stronger when defeated and gets defeated in the end by getting his head chopped of and thrown into an eldritch abyss?
Could be that the cryptic head is either Mr isekyle bbeg himself from the future/past because ancient time travel shenanigans (maybe that's why the makers of the abyss unalived themselves/disappeard?) or the head has a similar sort of deal, reincarnating itself and just being butthurt because Balar destroyed his body or something
This is.. definitely a weird one, but I can definitely appreciate a game that tones it's gameplay to the story even if that might dampen the gameplay or make it harder. to bring the stupid point about modern games back: nowadays games are often made to market to as many people as possible, which is not a bad thing in and of itself but I will always consider those games "products", while games that try to do something special, something that will not appeal to everyone but it does follow their vision as best as possible, are for me "art"/a work of passion. That sounds pretentious and I'm sorry for that. It's just what comes to mind seeing something like this. aight rant over
The sound coming from the great devoid at 29:18 has very similar elements with Dungeon Keeper 1 spell, the sight of evil.
Outrageous how this game and its sequel haven't gotten the Steam/Polish Information Network haven treatment yet… well, no matter, here's to hoping this gets the Chasm: The Rift (thanks a lot, Civvie 11) treatment sooner than later.
And this sure is timely with HiddenXperia's Marathon 2 lore video as an accompaniment.
Thanks for this one Mandalore. But WHAT THE HELL happened to the head then… and what was even it ?

I can't imagine how did they code all of this in 1997: object physics, cool sprite-like 3d models, friendly fire, landscape nuances, random shots. The game is itself impressive even on a theory level, not every RTS today, I'd say none of them, has those features baked in. Plus a touch of a 80-90's complex high fantasy, wow.
Haha his ARMies

How dare you remind us all of the existence of the live action Thomas the Tank Engine movie
