Awhโฆ..such wonderful gifts. ๐ Glad you found your marbles. ๐ Iโm still looking for mine. Happy Septemberโฃ๏ธ ๐๐๐๐๐๐๐๐
I found the large photographs from the second package particularly interesting and of very good photo quality. Why were the railroad stations numbered with such huge numbers and numbered at all? Your viewers love you, Renรฉe!
Wonderful mail day! I can't wait till you open the package I sent in June . I imagine you get so many that it takes time to get to them all. Renee people admire you so much and want to share vintage treasure with you. I'm so proud that you inspire your followers to take a minute and admire the vintage that still surrounds us and save as much as we can from being discarded. You remind me of my wonderful second grade teacher who drew attention to the beautiful thjngs around us. That ability to appreciate has been a true gift to me. Thanks for teaching that lesson again today.
When I was a kid you use to receive cards with presents especially if it was baby showers or wedding showers. Putting the name on the back of card with the gift was an easy way of being able to thank the people for the gift. Cute gifts from the people. ๐บ๐ธ๐บ
Thanks for a great mail day. I really admire Elizabeth & Grace who saw a need and decided they could and should fix it. "Be the change you want to see," right? We still use checks to pay some bills, but not like my folks. They wrote checks for everything – at least to the locally-owned supermarket and the department stores. And if my Mom had miscalculated when withdrawing "cash for the week," – by going inside the bank – she was a regular at that supermarket and they would cash checks for her! Gas stations – I spent my first 10 years out of school doing environmental remediation. Often when they widen roads down here, especially in rural locations, they find underground storage tanks (USTs). These fed pumps out in front of the Mom & Pop general stores that existed when the road was narrower & less travelled. The buildings are long gone but not all the USTs. Oyette's (?) cards are wonderful; I love reading people's notes, which are often hilarious. Photos too. I'm really intrigued by all the motel / motor lodge photos & postcards you receive. Charlotte's box of treasure – equally terrific. Love the New London pennant – grew up not far from there and once watched the launch of a nuclear sub there (USS New Hampshire). Hope the estate sales & storage units are plentiful – clean outs, maybe. Have a great Friday & weekend! Long day at work today – straight through lunch and well into the evening. Maybe I will goof off tomorrow as "comp time." :).
Oh my school supplies! I just can't pass them up! Honestly it doesn't matter what time of year I just LOVE it all especially the smell of a box of new crayola crayons and oh how I miss the lunch boxes with a thermos. My favorites I had were the Smurfs and the Snorks and I remember my brother having the Dukes of Hazard metal of course. Showin' my age. LOL….Ahhh….memories. Love your mail days.
