  1. The not-looking at it in the end is from the Biblical tale of Sodom & Gomorrah. If I remember correctly, when people looked back at the destruction that God rained down on the cities, those people who looked back turned into pillars of salt.

  2. Harrison Ford was originally supposed to fight the big guy with the sword, with his whip. That day, Harrison was sick & had the runs. He shot the guy instead to end the shoot quick. The guy went along with it. As soon as he shoots the guy you see him looking around. He was looking for a toilet.

  3. I'm sorry dude, I like your videos and all, but I really don't understand why you went on a complete tangent on what kind of religion Marion, a fictional character in a movie, probably has. And especially the cringy diatribe about it, with the weak cover of "my wife is jewish, so it's okay". Ah, no. It was not needed, the movie clearly shows it was not needed (as it would be completely different if Marion had said anything about religion, like "My father was obsessed with this part of his religion" or "I dropped my fathers beliefs".
Now it was just you projecting, going way to far into your projection, and then backpedalling with "But my wife".

My advise? Keep religion out of things, they stay much better that way. Explaining what the Ark is? Fine, part of a fictional story (we know Moses did not exist, and the exodus did not happen, but was based on earlier stories of an exodus out of Babylon, which also explains the commandments being given, as this story was stolen from Babylon, it is almost word for word how Hamurabi got his laws, hundreds of years earlier) in which it is said to contain these commandments and be a superweapon (but also kills someone who wants to prevent it falling off a cart, which is quite an evil thing to do as a "good" god)

  4. Love these movies! Always look forward to your videos. Fun fact, somewhere in the ark chamber, where Indy & Sullah are getting the ark, I don't remember where exactly, but there is a hieroglyphic of R2-D2 and C-3PO. Also, Hitler WAS apparently something of a fanatic of trying to gather religious artifacts and suppose supernatural items.

  5. Why did the Nazi's die when the Ark was opened? Well first, when Moses asked to see God, God told him he could not endure it. So it was believed that to see God in all his majesty would destroy you. Plus, I think Belloq and the Nazi's offended God, not only in the evil they did, but God had commanded that only the Temple High Priest could open the Ark and that only the Levite priests could touch it. Also, I think the spirit that appeared out of the Ark at the end of the movie was the Angel of Death. There was also evidently a deleted scene where old man who translated the markings on the headpiece of the staff explains some of this and tells Indy and Sallah not to touch the Ark. The script is very smartly written by Lawrence Kasdan.

  6. Jen was totally right about the faces of the guys in the taven not looking real! They actually didn't hire asian actors in this movie and instead had white men wear yellow face for that scene. One of the older racist practices of Hollywood. I'm actually really glad she caught it!

  7. I was just talking about how National Treasure was really the last fun, adventure movie we've had and that it's a genre we don't get movies in anymore. I hope we get some soon, I def. miss that genre.
I don't think I ever realized that's Alfred Molina at the beginning haha learn something new everyday right.
