  4. About them being too happy dancing than singing, that is because 4/5 of them pursued dancing careers at first. They were not too focused with their vocals and Stell is one of them, even though he became the main vocal singer of the group. Stell is a born singer and his mother even tried to hire music teachers to develop Stell’s talent in singing. It’s just that he loved dancing more than singing. That was why he abandoned that idea and went to compete locally and internationally as a dancer. For Ken, he sings well when he was a kid because he was exposed to a musically inclined family. But when he hit puberty, he got discouraged because he could no longer reach the notes he was able to when he was young. That was why when he discovered that he has a talent for dancing, he created his own dance crew and competed locally as a K-pop cover dance group. The next one is Josh and Justin. Both of them don’t have a natural talent for singing. They first honed their talents in dancing by joining a lot of K-pop cover groups (Josh was even competing as part of Stell’s dance group). They were able to improve their singing skills the moment they started as trainees for ShowBT. Only Pablo was the one who started as a singer/rapper amongst them. That is why he is the only member who has difficulties in memorizing choreographies. But once he masters it, he becomes a good dancer. Maybe these explain the reason why you felt they are more happy dancing rather than singing.

  6. Thanks for reacting to SB19. Not sure which songs you're referring to wherein they supposedly don't seem as happy performing, but as far as I know, the songs they're not dancing to are their ballads and their ballads are emotionally charged. Among the ballads they performed at the concert were about profound subjects that relate to their real life experiences including vulnerability and the need for respite from external pressure, about hopelessness amidst longing for family, about a promise of devotion and sacrifice in a declaration of unwavering love. And they performed them beautifully and with the appropriate amount of somber energy IMO.

  7. I'm not really sure why people, including Ovela, kept on saying SB19 is trying to look like Kpop idols. If you are to look at Kpop idols before and after fame, they dont look like their original selves. If you guys are referring to facial enhancement as "inspired by kpop idols", then you are categorizing the whole beauty-enhancement industry as Kpop. Does that even make sense? Make up? Its a given in entertainment! How do you really expect SB19 to look like? A foreigner who would think that SB19 members as Korean is clear ill-informed.

    If you are referring to their music style, then you are categorizing pop/ edm sound as Kpop. Lame, so lame! How do you expect them to sound like? When Korean artists copied Fredie Aguilar's Anak and sound, did we hear the koreans say they sounded like Filipinos?

    Music is universal. You dont expect one person to hear something pleasing and just because it was created by someone else, you expect that person to unhear it. 😪

  8. They are probably more energized and hyped up when dancing because they sing their dance songs, mostly with an EDM vibe, which really sets a party mood. When they sing their ballad songs, it's not that they are unfocused or not enjoying themselves, but because their ballads are heartfelt and carry deep meanings about their journey, making them relatable to everyone. That's why their songs have already touched a lot of people's heartstrings. I hope you consider watching their lyric videos with subtitles so you can understand the message they want to convey.

  14. Appreciate your efforts Ovela.. Thanks for making a separate video for your thoughts.. I also think Pablo is a very consistent mem when it comes to overall performances. But Stell is the most consistent mem for me from dancing to singing. All of them really give their all when performing and they all have different strengths that contributes to their whole performance.

    Most of their Slow Songs are Heartbreaking Ballads and they have to feel it to perform it well. That's why the energy wasn't there, instead the emotions can be felt.

  17. Hi Ovela i've been ur subscriber a few years ago when ur with ur ex gf. When i saw ur reaction bout sb 19 im a little bit sad what would u expect from a fan. But i know in my heart soon u will appreciate them and here it is…nwei thanks so much for ur reaction and having time watching them live❤.
    If you have time try to react to Cashual Chucks documentaries about SB19 episode 1 to 6 in one episode ur there. Cashual Chuck has this individual episode for the boy , what nobody knows about each one of them. Those documentaries made me love the boys even more.

  21. It depends on what they are singing.. their ballads are mostly sad songs so they got emotional and became really serious…if you knew and understand the lyrics you'll understand why

  23. So glad you enjoyed the concert. I too, was not impressed (an understatement) when they were first introduced on TV, watching from Canada in late 2019. I thought they’d be another one of those short-lived, overnighter boy groups. When I visited Ph pre-What? era (early 2020), I even sarcastically told my niece who was a KPop fan, what do you see in boys wearing makeup?! I was harsh and very condescending of them. When I was back in Canada, What? MV was dropped and I had to figure out their ethnicity like a math problem. And when they sang in Filipino, I had to repeat the MV ‘coz I was confused. The MV was impressive, but it wasn’t enough to change my opinion on them. Then Mapa happened, I realized how “Filipino” they were in their lyrics and was more impressed learning that they create their own music. I became more an A’Tin after learning their backstory and seeing their personality, most especially staying humble throughout all these. They may not be the 80’/90’s music, when I fan-girl hard, but I’m an A’Tin tita who supports them as long as they keep their feet on the ground while creating masterpieces.

  43. I get it..I like Sb19 but I'm not an A'tin. I don't worship idols.. lol. I went to their concert here in Toronto last year. It was fun and they were incredible. Yeah I thought the boys were a Kpop group when I first saw them few years ago.. lol.. my bias is Ken, I love his golden tan skin, deep voice and he's manly..😄
