  1. I’ve seen Godzilla Minus One in theaters and it’s dark yet great Godzilla movie!😁 I literally feel excitement and usher terror of this version of Godzilla and I love the human characters and I’m worried for them to death for Godzilla’s rampage and I feel their pain. And yet it’s a fantastic Godzilla movie!😎

  2. Very impressive video and review. Even loving the inclusion of Godzilla tracks from other cover artists >X333 Godzilla Minus One is such an amazing film. I was lucky enough to see it early on November 29th with my mother and we both enjoyed it a lot.

It's dark, gritty, very impactful, and does something that no other Godzilla film(with a few exceptions) does right…A good human story, with characters that aren't forgettable >:3 And Godzilla was absolutely terrifying and destructive in this film, bringing him back to his original roots with his own twists. He may be the smallest incarnation but he can pack one hell of a punch that makes him all the more terrifying…

Overall an amazing review of this movie, and a good Godzilla video overall since 2014 :3 Keep up the good work and hope for more Kaiju related stuff for the channel in the near future, and whenever you have the time for it!

  3. Loved it, saw it 4 times so far, and yes, the roar was absolutely the best Godzilla roar EVER. In Imax, it was absolutely thunderous and shook the theater to the point you felt like he was standing in front of you. You also hit on one key that I loved; all of the throwbacks and tips of the hat to the original 1954 version, as well as some of the best bits and pieces of every Godzilla movie to date.

  4. Sorry, this is a copy-paste of a comment I posted elsewhere.

I went to see "Godzilla-1.0/-C" at a nearby movie theater (Futakotamagawa 109) on the morning of its release. Although it was a 2D (7.1ch) screen, I watched it with three friends in the middle of the second row, right behind the handicapped seat in the front row. It was just the right amount of immersion.

Making it monochrome made it look more realistic. In particular, the depiction of the gunboat and Shinden was wonderful. When I heard the score of Suite 2, I got goosebumps again. The atmosphere of the Showa era was well recreated in the scene when the ship docked at the port. It was a nice change. A must-see for fans.

I have already seen the color in 4DX+Screen I think.

In terms of completeness, this monochrome version may be the true "Godzilla Minus One." Recreate low-tech with high-tech and enjoy the retro atmosphere. However, regarding the sound, it might have been better to include some noise intentionally.

  5. I was not only satisfied that Godzilla Minus One was a really good movie but more than exceeded expectations for a foreign film in the U.S. and once more is being counted alongside Oppenheimer as one of the best films of the year is awe-inspiring. Hands down the best movie of 2023!

  6. The reason why he walks like that is bc it was a reference to the Godzilla suits being too heavy ( 200 pounds ) the actor Haruo Nakajima sama played Godzilla he past away on 2017! Rip! In 2023 kenpachiro satsuma san past away on dec 16 the same day the movie monster series Gojirasaurus toy released! The only godzilla left is mr Kitagawa san! Tbh i loved this movie and it inspired me to create my version of Destroy all monster! Rodan and rodan strikes again! And etc!

  7. I saw someone comment that Godzillas movement may be related to radiation damage. They said radiation poisoning can cause a painful degeneration of the joints causing stiff movement. I haven’t looked into it to see if that’s a real thing but it’s interesting nonetheless.

The director did speak on the mark on Noriko’s neck. He compared it to the mark left on the main character by the boar monster in Princess Mononoke. In a way Noriko is cursed by Godzillas malice. Everything in this film seems to have multiple meanings attached, which is probably what makes it all so compelling

  8. I've had to talk more softly in some of my videos because family was sleeping. I still haven't watched Shin Godzilla yet but I've heard good things. Minus One was amazing, it's my favorite movie for 2023. I like your vibe and humor, great video!

  9. A theory I have for why he walks like that is he most likely isn’t use to moving such a large heavy body around with the added weight might just be a lot of pressure like how if we carry a heavy object we move slower and take more precise steps

  10. I’m glad you enjoyed it so much! “Minus One” is one of the best blockbusters I’ve seen in a long time! Before I saw “Minus One”, I hadn’t been to a movie theater since 2019 (Before COVID hit), but “Minus One” reminded me how much I missed going to the movies.

As a longtime Godzilla fan, this is the dark, serious, apocalyptic blockbuster take on Godzilla I’ve been waiting for Hollywood to make FOR YEARS! You can only imagine how surprised I was that it was Godzilla’s original studio, Toho, to be the one to make such a movie! This movie fulfilled the expectations I had for “Godzilla 2014” when Legendary Pictures first teased us with that 2012 Comic-Con trailer (Before Legendary pulled the “Bait and Switch” on everyone). “Minus One” is what the 2014 film THINKS it is! It tells an emotional and compelling human story while still providing all the awesome kaiju action that you would hope for.

In all seriousness, “Minus One” has been an absolute blessing (and I don’t use that term lightly, if ever)! I still can’t get over how much I enjoyed it and how much praise and success it’s gotten (Well deserved, may I add). To have a Toho Godzilla movie of this caliber be released in American theaters the same day as my 30th birthday (December 1st) is one of the greatest gifts I’ve ever gotten. I will cherish this movie for the rest of my life.
