I’ve decided to make it possible to grab both my Helix/HX Stomp bundles (the expression bundle with freeze presets has always been separate) together – https://www.paypal.com/cgi-bin/webscr?cmd=_s-xclick&hosted_button_id=CCTNL7P2XSQDC – I will then email you a link to both bundles!

  1. Your description of your use case around the Nobels is EXACTLY why I have a GE7 at the end of my gain section (whatever is before it). Because it is super versatile and gets you out of all manner of real world unexpected tone problems.

  2. I have a boss geq7 (with ep and Katana boost in same G3S loop), Prince of Tone and a Gold Nobles with bass cut and an Analogman BC109 fuzz. The pot (switched on Dist) kicked the OCD off the board. My effects loop is VP4 with a midi controlled Boss EQ200. That is as simple as I have gotten. I might use a Gigrig loopy 2 for a "guest" overdrive.

  3. Great timing on this video! Just experimented with my mini board gig setup: Hello Kitty fuzz > JHS Bonsai > Polytune Mini > Tonex One. Went fully digital with a Friedman Plex model into a Creamback 65 4×12 IR – no physical amp. Really surprised by how great it sounded through front of house, and even the stage wedge was decent. Next step is finding a DI box…

  4. I just pulled my big board apart this week and swapped to my old pedaltrain mini to use in front of the Apollo before whatever amp plugin I am using for recording. I wanted something I could swap pedals in and out easily.
Also part of a rejig to my general workflow where I only play into the DAW so I am forced to think everything could potentially be recorded for song writing. Looper and Stomp now gone.
Immediately seeing results from this change.

  5. Thanks for the videos Cordy.

I've heard you mention your hybrid setup quite a few times now, could you possibly give us a video about your live rig and how your signal chain goes where and what?

I'm looking to do something similar, send a stereo signal to FOH with a full chain in the HX stomp, but also want to run a signal sans cab to a power amp on stage into a real cab, to get an amp kind of feel on the stage. The only way I can see to do this with the Stomp is to add a send block the cuts out the cab, which is what I guess you're doing but wondered if there was a more elegant solution I'm missing.
