They absolutely need something to counter life staff in pvp on every weapon. Fighting life staff is so annoying, they should add a debuff to heals when hit by another flagged player, and a further debuff on each weapon through the skill tree. For pve I think it’s balanced tho

auto attack isnt an ability lol
You can animation cancel your light/heavy attacks with Flamethrower (max upgraded for no cooldown on it), so you can shoot and dodge super quick. If you're quick enough, you'll even be able to shoot light attacks quicker than you normally would.
So glad to hear this review. I finally quit wow and this was a breath of fresh air. I absolutely love the pvp in the game and it always has me on toes.
I think arenas could be fun maybe try it out by making it like a event or something, maybe make it so u can use ur inventory while u auto run I could see that working…
If they don’t add mounts add something like black desert has with auto running while afk you can mark a spot on the map and it will run you there without any effort on your part

I feel like your mindset would be insane for super smash melee, the scene is huge and alive since the 2000’s, you can play on PC with slippi that has rollback no Lag online and it has solo Q, would be super fun to watch you play a fighting game

I think arenas would be perfect in this game and could be used as an incentive for world pvp. What if you could only que arenas by traversing the world flagged for pvp and maybe every 20 minutes you're flagged and not in a sanctuary allows for one arena match, capping at 5 or 6 games so there are never "dry periods" of world pvp, just a thought
There's actually 16 abilities if you include blocking. Blocking is an important skill to master. Many people over-rely on roll/dodge. This is very build dependent though.

100% agree with pretty much all of this. I was exactly the same on mounts. I was like how can an MMORPG not have mounts!? But once you play New World and experience the immersiveness of the environments and world pvp, having mounts would take away this joy. Not having swimming is a joke tho, lol.
Would love to see some rework of the dungeon system with the keys, since they're just way too expensive to craft as well as bigger storages in the towns.

100% agree on heavy MS to players. Agree with world pvp, i think there should be more rewards around the world pvp quests or something new to incentivise more flagging pvp.
Add a mandatory flag zone with something to draw players there to farm or w/e

I love New World and I think it has such a huge potential! I agree with a lot of the things you are saying. When it comes to arena vs open world pvp I think that a pvp arena is a "must have" for me to play the game in the long run, and it would fit the combat system much better than the large scale pvp modes they got currently. I really hope they will add a small scale competitive pvp mode to this game, but it does not have to be implemented in a way that is destructive to the open world. This is a game where controlling the zones and building influence to be able to go to war is based on your contribution in pvp quests which is a part of the open world pvp, so I highly doubt that the open world pvp will die out due to them adding arenas. For example they might make you have to travel to an arena that is located in the open world (with pvp flagged on) to be able to participate. That means more reasons to flag. I also think that it is important that they think about the rewards from the arena. Do not make it mandatory by rewarding best in slot items. That should in my opinion come from crafting. Rather give rewards such as titles and cosmetics. They should also add more open world pvp content for even more incentives to flag. I think that open world pvp and pvp arena can coexist in a healthy way.
you forgot block as an ability as well. can really make a difference and has high skill cap to it.

loved your take on the weapons but there needs to be mounts for this game to survive, simple solution to keep pvp alive is that they toggle off when u turn on pvp.
The first 3 faction quests you do each day give 10x the gold in the description.
I do like your thoughts on the movement, BUT just make the game all around smooth and let winning be complete skill, rather than machanics winning for you. There shouldn't really be bugs making you roll faster, just because you pulled your weapon out at the exact time. That's nonsense. Keep pvping!
Would be really cool if they could find a way to encourage people to PvP while resource gathering.
Lots of people turn off PvP since the game incentives you so much to use +Luck gear with gathering.
Maybe an interesting fix would be +Luck bonus while flagged for PvP.
