  2. I think that the likelihood of the deodorizer placing an oxygen tile in the lower chamber is zero when you have only a single layer of liquid in the mesh tiles and no liquid covering the deodorizers. I think how this work is that the game will try to teleport one element when two different elements occupy the same tile, but never when the elements match. The heating problem with one tile of liquid is addressed when you have 1 ton of water per tile in the mesh tiles and adequate tempshift plates made of metal or better. I've tested a similar design in one of my bases and it worked fine over a few hundred cycles. The water did start to heat up, but I fixed that by increasing the minimum gas pressure of the upper chamber. I had a 15-20 tile airgap(heat transferred only by strategically placed granite tempshift plates) between the geyser and an ice biome I was using and the system kept itself cool when I set the minimum clean oxygen pressure above 10kg.

Edit: I forgot to tell you the main thing I felt watching this video. I loved that you covered this nifty little design in both your shorts and here. Thanks for sharing this and other neat little designs that fit so many small niches that general designs are too cumbersome for.

  3. I love this design… I just wish polluted oxygen vents were more useful. The amount of effort put into taming the vent is a lot for one duplicant's worth of oxygen. The only use I can think of is generating extra clay (for ceramic), or maybe for making emergency oxygen on rarely visited asteroids (in case a duplicant needs to stay there for a while, or if they need to refuel their rocket cabin's oxygen supply).

  4. Oh I remember doing a infectious polluted oxygen tamer that had buddy buds in the room to override the slimelung germs and it also was cooled so the buddy buds won't die :))
