  1. Hey Rory, I really appreciate what you've contributed to the community and the game. Really earnest and approachable. I have to say, man to man… I heart what you are saying. I agree that the fundamentals of GT7 are approaching perfect. At least for my tastes. I absolutely love playing and driving in this game. I am what you might call a "fillthy casual" that aspires to something more. Meaning I invested in a GT DD Pro racing wheel, Load Cell pedal and a wheel mount/base rig. But I also drive in my Lazy Boy and am perfectly happy with my B driver rating at the moment.

I'm that average weekend golfer who shows up with expensive Taylor Made clubs and tried hard to play well, but just doesn't quite have the skillset to reach the upper levels. And that's why I love GT7, with all it's faults or shortcomings in the Online/Career dept. It caters to both the 'Sim semi-hardcore' crowd, like yourself and the weekend punter like me that has the gear, the passion, the desire, but not quite the skill to jump to ACC or the more hardcore 'E-Sport' racing sims.

I absolutely love the driving mechanics, the balance of sim and lighthearted 'fun' it evokes, the list of cars, the tracks, the variable conditions. But as you said, the Online side is where it lacks a bit to get to that next level. I would like a larger variety of weekly races, catering to a wider variety of driving styles/cars/tracks. Weather conditions, and maybe some sort of over-arching 'progression' that we keep logging in to work towards. Whatever form that might take.

Anyway, I still really like just firing up a race, online or Cafe/World Tour and challenging myself to beat myself, or other racers if I'm feeling bold. I love the balanced GT7 strikes between sim and approachable "populist" driving game. I hope they keep developing it and make some bold choices to improve and expand the Online/Sport component so even average guys like me can't wait to log in and try my luck at 4 or 5 different races and modes.

Love the game and love your content, keep doing what you're doing and have fun doing it!

  2. Ive not played GT since probably 2 as I went to Forza but the things your saying with GT7 I hope they dont fall down with in the new Forza next year. I do have all the current sim games but they are nearly 100% multiplayer focused with no other substance this is why "simcades" like GT7, Forza Horizon and Forza are needed to provide a different experience.

  3. Absolutely on point Rory. I personally pretty much stopped playing the sport mode after near 200 races since March. We need some changes to make it interesting/challenging! Have a good weekend body. Good stuff on your channel this week!

  4. weather changing ok but you need to now before the start not makes a wild guess and hoping you are spot on. Longer race are really needed, the fuel saving races are horrible. Dailys need to be much fair races bad racing need to be on a harder penalty. If it stay like this I'm will quit and go to PC and iRacing.

  5. Yeah, these are all simple things to implement. Even the BoP, just change a couple values for sport mode, have Sophy optimize times so they’re close. Have to disagree with the Bounty bar and Coffee Revels sorry haha.

  6. Ok, so this also comes from a place of love… I do really love your videos, and this is not a bad video in and of itself but I think you accidentally hit on a really interesting point here that I’ve just realised summarises one of the problems I have with some of the YouTuber commentary about it – it’s your job. You’ve been playing this game since I have been so we’re probably roughly the same age, but I didn’t really play any of them past GT3 until GT7. But it being your job and someone who’s played through and through for 25 years, you have to admit you’re in the minority for PD’s target market. As a pretty casual gamer at my age, most of your suggestions are totally valid but just aren’t really the deal breakers that you (and to a greater degree other YouTubers, you’re better than most) make them out to be. It’s just a bloody great game and for the folks I know playing that aren’t die hard, 25 year lifers that have exhausted every game, or who are new to the game in general, are loving it. The only thing I categorically disagree with so the BoP thing – it’s a natural fact that having different cars with different abilities, you’ll get stand outs because that’s the nature of motor racing. Otherwise, love your videos and keep them up, but it’s a great game that just needs to keep updating itself – which it is!

  7. Bigger grids yes much bigger, and not only a longer race, the game needs a proper endurance race with the possibility for a multi class grid, be able to enter as a team with several drivers. The penalty system is a joke and needs to penalize dirty drivers.

  8. Love the video 🙂 I have three gripes with GT7. Number 1, considering the scope of the roster there is still a lack of single player events (where are the super formula races? The Gr2 races? Events for vintage race cars like the 330 P4? So on…). I'm sure they're still coming but I dunno, I feel like they should've already been here by now.
Number 2, speaking of events, I think the WTC races (mainly WTC700 and 800) missed a golden opportunity to incorporate tuned road cars and detuned race cars in the grid rather than just using the same Gr3 and Gr4 cars. There is a 1 hour endurance race at Deep Forest in the Missions that proves these races could/should have been implemented into the World Circuit races. They may not affect the results at the end of the day but it sure would make doing these races more interesting.
And number 3, I don't think the Gr1-4 classes just don't work as well compared to GT Sport. Gr3 has quite a few older cars in it now which just don't compete as well as newer cars, so why not have them in something like Gr3 Classic? Gr1 definitely needs an overhaul – could have Gr1 for modern combustion engine LMPs and VGTs, Gr1H for hybrid LMPs and VGTs, and Gr1C for the old Group C machines.
Probably sounded entitled just now haha, but those are my thoughts 🙂

  9. While ACC at launch sucked balls on console currently the game is the best racer on console bar non imo.
And yes they do indeed charge moneys for the DLCS but they are well worth it they are high quality and add so much replayabilty to game is well worth it.

gran turismo updates while free are usually underwhelming for the most part.

  10. The updates on gt7 are constantly trying to fix the game and add a car or 2 while they're at it. Gotta add i had to pay for the ps5 gt7 upgrade while i didn't have to pay for ps5 upgrade for any other games (all of them disc versions).
Lets face it with a few added cars and tracks gt7 is just a good graphic gt6 with sport mode. They've charged us a full premium for a product and are still struggling to deliver

  11. In our league races, we usually ban the 4WDs because of that. As turns out, the MR and FR cars are pretty balanced, they just need to do something about it, nerfing the GTR, 155 and WRX which can bring huge imporvement for Gr.4's Bop.

  12. With such a huge user base, and such a broad subject it is about impossible to make everyone happy.

For example, I personally have no interest in the issues your pointing out. You have perfectly valid points, and they would absolutely improve the game, but then I will be disappointed.

What do I want? VR, More Cars, and More Tracks. That simple.

VR is in my opinion the single biggest addition they can offer. It completely changes the gameplay, much better sense of scale, sense of speed, spatial awareness, and gives you a massive increase in feedback from every aspect of the car. It is almost the end game for sim racing.

Give me that, with full races, and more cars and tracks, and I will never get board.
