  1. Loved this reaction, you and Matt reacting to these movies are very much like me and my friend where we dive into some inappropriate humour but have fun with it and just make the most of the movies. Awesome to see Matt on more and more though

  2. Hopping on the "Great to see more Matt" train. Jen's great of course, but I love and relate to the way Matt dissects movies, the lines, and hidden lessons. Truly an entertaining watch!

  3. I think that his dad's pride at what he was doing was less about status and more about the fact that at first, he didn't realize that his son was becoming his own person and he didn't respect that, because he didn't see the good qualities that his son was forming. When he saw his son about to go fight the dragonHe realized that his son was more of a man than he thought he was, he realized that his son was willing to his life on the line for others, which showed courage strength and determination, and I think it's this that really brought him around. He misunderstood hiccups, motivations until he saw the man, the hiccup was really becoming. Once he saw who hiccup was really becoming, he became more open-minded Hiccups different worldview. Because he saw that he could actually respect his son like a man therefore, he should consider what he has to say. He also saw first-hand that hiccup had successfully tamed the other dragons as well, which was proof that hiccup was right.

  4. 32:05 Really good take from Matt. One of my favorite moments from the Christmas movie Elf is when Walter apologizes to Buddy BEFORE he learns that Buddy was telling the truth. That's what gave the apology its power. But I do think this movie gives Stoick enough small moments to keep him out of stereotype territory (his vulnerability with Gobber, his excitement when he talks to Hiccup after returning from the hunt, the moment of grief he feels after disowning Hiccup, etc.)

  5. 7/10 is pretty outstanding coming from Matt. Lol. I do think there's a chance he would enjoy the sequels more for the more mature storylines. These movies get me so deep as someone that really loves and appreciates the human and animal bond. It was really nice to see a storyline that teaches that way of thinking for kids. <3

  7. I have disagreed with MANY of matts opinions, but i always love hearing them. I feel like a lot of reactors just hype up anything they watch to appeal to the fans even if they dont really like it, so its nice to have someone unapologetically voice their opinions for once.
