  1. Dear Lydia, you might want to dive into the topic of seed oils…they are likely to be among the most awful things you can consume. I think Max Lugavere is a great starting point for info in this topic, if you are interested.
    Have a great day!

  2. Your wellness journey can help so many on their journey as well, so I would not be worried about others being worked up about your thoughts on healthy living/eating. I'm surprised you and Ali don't wear CGM to watch how the food your eating is effecting your blood. Sulfur dioxide in the desiccated coconut or any other dried fruit will cause stomach gas and upset (sulfur) You're a passionate cook and baker, make everything from scratch (except rice). Goji Berrys are toxic and loaded with sugar and lectins, switch them out for something else.

  3. Hello from California. Thanks for filming & sharing great lifestyles videos from England, Mrs. Lydia & Mr. Ali Millen Gordon. We have been watching this channel since the beginning of the journey & watched it grow to what it is today. Happy holidays & congrats from our channel* Sally Alexandria & Alex* Australian Parakeets Stars

  4. Hi Lydia, I’m usually a silent watcher but I’m a dietitian and just had to say how overjoyed I am to hear you moving away from UPF’s, and making your condiments from scratch. The kefir, hazelnut, flax seed and goji berry snack is amazing, too! You will certainly have a very happy microbiome – your mental health, gut health, skin health and much more will all be positively affected❤️ love your content!!

  5. I love your good journey. You help us learn. Don’t apologise for your journey. 🤗. Could you please do a new tutorial on how you do your beautiful eyes. The liner, and lashes look stunning. I’m of Norwegian background and have light features and I’d like to master these areas to help define my face. Plus my brows. I’m trying to do those better but they are light 😮❤

  6. Just fyi – the Twinings valerian tea has flavourings (albeit 'natural flavourings' but they're still not telling us what they are). Pukka has a valerian nighttime tea that doesn't. You inspired me to start looking at my groceries list again and I've already found some E numbers in things that I would never have expected – argh! xx

  7. I have been eating organic and avoiding UPFs / reducing chemical load on my body for about a year due to health issues. And it’s so hard. Not to mention expensive. Even to find good quality produce that’s labelled correctly is difficult. It’s a land mine so we just do the best we can. I guess shopping in smaller independent/ direct from farms has helped the most but the convenience compromise is difficult with a full life!

  8. As a histaminintolerant myself I went over the same process with grocery shopping. It was infuriating at first, I could never imagine that there are so many added things till I had to check the labels.
But this was the most lucky thing happened to me since I was forced to live healthy and I will never go back. The difference is just unbelievable.
    Enjoy the journey 😊

  9. Hi Lydia hopefully you see this but I always think what would make a massive difference to your digestion and health issues is eating earlier at night. I know it can’t always be helped but I would have so many stomach issues if I was eating anything after 5pm 🤣 such an easy change too xx

  10. Really enjoyed this video. The food discussion was an eye opener. Lydia I must ask, I watch all your videos and can't help buy notice, did you get a new wedding ring set??? Just curious because I've been noticing it. Thanks and have a wonderful week.

  11. preservatives are put in so that they do not go off as soon as they are made. Good for you if you can make your food fresh everyday. But if you want to put all those foods in your lovely pantry they are going to have preservatives in there!

  12. The thing that always gets me when topics of healthy foods pop up is that I've always wondered why people say that food that is good for us, is mostly out of reach for people with less money. For me it's always been better to make my own stuff but at the same time cooking most items from scratch is a very time consuming task. I work from home and I don't have any children which means I have the time to do so. We also live in a village in which we are not able to order fast food to (via popular apps) as they just don't travel here. We are surrounded by farms and local produce and we tend to shop straight from their local shops and stalls (along the roadside).

Buying vegetables is not expensive if you buy in season. Buying strawberries is expensive in the dead of winter but if you go pick your own when they're in season (which I do) and then preserve them (some airfryers now have a freeze drying option and information about freeze drying can easily be found on the internet), you don't have to spend a fortune on them in winter. But, again, it's a rather time consuming task. My partner had a takeaway curry the other night and it made him feel out of sorts for a few days yet if I make him a curry from scratch, at home, he never feel out of sorts.

Yes, organic meats are expensive and the same goes for eggs but I've always followed the rule that if I can't afford it, I just won't eat it. This is especially true for poultry – if I can afford a corn-fed chicken, I won't have chicken that week. I swear to you, a meat-free roast tastes just as good and you'll feel less heavy without shoving a load of cheap meat down your thrapple.

So, in my experience (being almost 55 I believe I've earnt the right to spout on about experience), if you set aside time to cook your meals from scratch and look into food preserving, you can make a difference to your wellbeing and you might even find that it's not that difficult. Learn how to cook the basics – when I grew up, there was no such thing as 'an internet' and it always amazes me how a generation who has everything at their fingertips, are mostly so inept when it comes to cooking food – learn how to preserve (again, use the internet!) and, above all, learn your kids how to because if it's something that they'll take with them, and thank you for, it's how they were taught how to cook and how to take care of themselves.

Above all – make sure you have balance in your life. A burger here and there isn't going to kill you – nor is a pizza – but they taste so much better when you've prepared them yourself.

  13. If you want to go down a rabbit hole, start researching the chemical processes that go into just the tea bags alone…not the contents of the tea, I mean the material that holds the tea in its bag. Always go for loose leaf tea…

  14. I totally agree about the Launer bag being classy, quiet luxury. I feel like all the Hermes bags, as classic and beautiful as they are, have been so heavily "trending" that they are actually starting to give me me the ick a little bit. However Hermes is a heritage brand and these bags have been around for a long time, so hopefully this wave will pass and they will continue to stand the test of time!
