My Final Thoughts on Jujutsu Kaisen 236

My last thoughts for Jujutsu Kaisen 236 and why I personally think it’s a good chapter, but honestly if you dislike it that’s absolutely fine.
Any medium of storytelling will always be digested and rated differently by other people and you should be okay with that. In this video I address some complaints and why I don’t really mind the moments that the complaints are for.

This is just a raw, unscripted video for the sake of it being completely genuine to a point where I can’t even calculate my thoughts or arguments, so expect a lot of uh, ah, and other forms of stutters 😭

  1. If I gotta disagree on anything it’s Sukuna being able to win without Mahoraga.

No way does he have enough time to figure out how to get his attack to reach Gojo. Sukuna absolutely need Mahoraga to win.

But that’s ok because it was his plan, it’s not like he just deus Machinaed a power up. That’d be worse. Gege excellently set up Sukuna taking more power during Shibuya.

No joke this is actually good writing for a villain. It’s been orchestrated since the beginning

  2. @17:40 saying Gojo didn't have a plan is very disingenuous to all of the training and forethought that went into him approaching Sakuna. It was pretty clear what he had in mind, because he knew that he had all of Megumi's memories and was well aware of what he was going to try to do with Mahoraga. He needed to get him just close enough to death to remove him from his body in some way we unfortunate never got to see.
Most of Sakuna's "planning" was banking on Mahoraga doing what he needed him to do and if he wasn't popping him in and out the battle like a Pokemon. That could have just as easily failed because Gojo was anticipating his arrival.

  3. I dont think Gojo praising Sukuna is what annoys people. It's the fact that he said he probably couldn'tbeat him even without 10 shadows. Which is odd considering Sukuna's whole plan revolved around 10 shadows. So it calls into question what exactly a 19 finger base Sukuna wouldve done without it, aeeing as until Mahoraga did it Sukuna had no thought as to what he could do to bypass infinity. Everything up until that point shows Gojo dealing with both Sukuna's DE and DA and coming out on top. Im also wondering why Gojo couldn't react since Sukuna's slashing is shown to have a travel time (a fast one sure, but not unreactable) and the previous chapter putting a big emphasis on recognizing the occurrence of CE before a big move. Unless people are saying that the slash basically spawned on top of Gojo, which is crazy to me.

  4. All I wanted to see was the spark. I didn’t need a slash but we just got that whole moment explaining whenever a cursed technique is used there’s an ignition moment. It just seems weird sukuna could execute a new variation of his technique without gojo seeing the startup. I even think it makes sense he wouldn’t have been able to react since the slash cuts time or whatever the fuck. Just seems weird not to show the spark after we learned that’s how that works.

  5. My issue with Gojo's death is similar to Bleach's Squad Zero vs Schutzstaffel or in Hollywood something like the 2nd Now You See Me film. So much buildup for so little payoff. The easiest patch for his death is to have a prior chapter to it. The extensive fix would be to have Sukuna fight and defeat or almost defeat the stronger runner ups before having Gojo go up against him. This sequence would allow Gege to scale the overall power levels to be more balanced after the ridiculous heights we keep seeing since Yuki vs Kenjaku.

  6. To be honest I have no problems with Gojo dying, at least from a narrative standpoint. It's HOW he died that got me and most people HEATED. Here are my 4 main points that warrant the outrage:

    1. At the end of Ch 235 we were left off with a Gojo looking Triumphant and a Sukuna who's in a very bad spot. Only for Ch 236 to hit us with Gojo being greeted by his dead friends and the next panel of Gojo's cut off torso.
It was like they forgot to put the cause and process, only leaving the Effect. I legit thought I skipped a page or two.

    2. "He would've beaten me even without Megumi's 10 Shadows."

Gojo you're my guy but you know damn well that's cap because if that were the case why go through the trouble of body jacking Megumi for a cursed technique that's essentially a shortcut to bypass your Infinity if he could've still found a way by himself? Do you not hear how contradictory that sounds?

    3. I believe that we can all agree that its true Sukuna still hasn't revealed all the cards he has (black box, yorozu gift, etc). His victory would've been more believable…..if 90 percent of the whole fight wasn't just Gojo outsmarting him and giving him fatal blows at least 4 times and by the near end of Ch 235 Sukuna being hella nervous and literally shouting for Mahoraga's help, not mention being completely f*cked up after the Hollow Nuke. Even if there were subtle hints that Sukuna was cooking something up they should've made it MORE OBVIOUS to convince us.

    4. Out of all the different ways to kill off a major plot-relevant character, Gege just HAD to choose the infamous OFF SCREEN.

To end this off, let me give you an example: Imagine Goku was beating the crap out Frieza after none his attacks worked on Goku that's how that Chapter ends. Next Chapter, is just Goku's lifeless corpse.

    Make any sense to you?

  7. Y'all sukuna fans wish came true. GEGE writing sukuna kaisen right now. One of the worst manga in history. KasHIMo gonna die next. Uraume marries sukuna at the end of jjk. This shit is done

    > fatal if hit by purple
    > low ce, RCT, and damaged badly
    – still somehow able to use cleave on gojo
    – bad writing
    > learn how to cut through space or the world out of nowhere
    – lazy writing might as well let him cleave the entire universe.
    > GOJO recovered
    – even if cleave hits him he should be able to tank it like how he tank domain cleave. Bad writing
    > GEGE made gojo the strongest sorcerer but didn't even let GOJO push sukuna to the point he used his true CT and furthermore off screened GOJO
    > GOJO was stated to be a prodigy
    > GOJOs birth was stated to alter the balance of the world
    – dumb writing. Disrespectful to the characters he created.
    > sealed Him 3 years and Unseal him just to kill him
    – bad writing.
    – letting GOJO die is a mistake. He is a major character. Letting him die without contributing to any major plot relevant is total bullshit.
    > timeskip before fighting sukuna was not explained as well.
    – no plans and strategy against sukuna and kenjaku????? Dumb writing to the max

Whats next? I think gege wants to kill all gojos friend. Next in line is utahime and mei mei. Sukuna is gonna cut through mei mei crow and reach mei mei head.😂😂😂😂😂

CELEBRATING SUKUNA PLOT CONVENIENCE, POOR WRITING AND FRAUD? PATHETIC.🤣🤣🤣🤣

I will take back my word if gojo dying is part of his grand plan.

  8. Our protags are not even reacting to dimension slash, let alone "tanking" or "eating" it. Unless Gege will go Buddha route with Gojo to the fullest, or Kashimo puts REAL work or Kenny cooks some, main cast should be dead or we are reaching 4th shinobi war level of asspulls.

Insane amounts of HOPIUM. I've seen an INCREDIBLE theory about Gojo being sealed for 18 days from October 31 to Novemeber 19, with his birthday being December 7th, and him being 28 and Buddha beginning his spiritual journey to englithment on his 29th birthday. And we know, that Prison Realm has no time flow, so Gojo was basically frozen in time for 18 days and is physically behind by 18 days.

And coincidently, it took 18 days from the day he got unsealed to his birthday on December 7th, and ANOTHER 17 days from December 7th to 24th, which means…. Gojo will techniqually turn 29 around December 24th or 25th, COINCIDENTLY, tying Chrisitanity here, Jesus was born on December 25. And all this is happening on Christmas Eve…

Oh, and don't forget about North and South choice, and the fact that upon his Birth, Buddha took 7 steps to North and after each step, a Lotus flower bloomed. Gege is not even trying to be subtle about symbolism and obvious parallels.

For those who think this would ruin Gojo's death, than no. He will be a new man, a new character. So it will have a meaning to it. And tbh, i am not a fan, AT ALL, of how Gojo died.

This will truly mark the death of the Strongest Sorcerer, and give birth to Satoru Gojo, just a man, answering Geto's question and fullfilling his claim of both winning against Sukuna and Kenny via helping his students and realise his dream of reseting Jujutsu Society.

P.S. We still have that bum Ino and his comments about Nanami in the timskip as a plotline, who just like granny Ogami from Shibuya Arc has a Seance technique. So he should realistically be capable of using his body as a Medium to summon Gojo's soul and body information, to bring him to the peak of his power, like Ogami did with Toji, if need be.

  9. About Sukuna's cut not being shown.
Wow, people wanting to see stuff in the visual media. Mindblown. Maybe we should have offcreened unlimited purple. Or we should have offcreened Mahito's domain against Mechamaru, heck we should have offscreened Kenjaku vs Yuki fight all together, would not have had to experience that travesty otherwise.

  10. Okay, you showed a picture of Gojo with a sweat drop, okay, it can be interpreted as Gojo feeling being caught by Nanami and Haibara. And he clearly, along with Geto, does not deny it. So being "smartass" in this instant won't happen

Okay, but why was Gojo angry at Disaster Curses for killing random civilians and promising to exorcise them? No, it's your opinion, that nothing was needed to state about him beliving in his students. In Shibuya he did, and thus, reinforced the idea of him being actually a teacher with his dream of nurturing new generation.

And for somebody, who felt regret for not being able to save Geto, now, leaving his best friend's body, which he wanted to bury, but now is bringing apocalypse. And yet, he has no regrets? Or his unwarranted believe in his students. Japan has been screwed since Shibuya, and was just getting worse and worse. But i guess reaching to Sukuna was always a top priority ☠️

  11. I get gojo has to die cause we know yuji will piece up sukuna, HOWEVER, the most nonsensical part of this whole fight is Gojo didn’t use teleport ONCE. Not even to runaway tho… he could of caught sukuna off guard with it so many times and hit him with a red, blue, purple, lime green.

Also teleport would of been Gojos only way to escape the space slash. Gege made Gojo way toooo powerful lol

  12. I do disagree that nobody talks about Gojo outside of his power. That is the thing that separated him and Sukuna. They talk about it all the time that he's egotistical and unlikable. Yuji and Yuta both talk about him as their saviors. Even people like Miwa like him because he's hot.

  13. Im still shocked gojo lost as a former sukuna fan turned gojo enjoyer we went from a chapter with the text "Gojo has won the battle of the strongest" to insert the sad naruto music along with gege in my opinion making ass pull after ass pull durring this one chapter first gojo getting off screened second it wasnt even a killing blow i mean for a human yeah getting cut in half is usualy the end unless if you know you survive since only blood loss is gonna kill you he left gojos head in tact but gojo is dead? Excuse me? After he basicly existed in malevolent shrine without infinity? Bro how the fuck are you gonna try and debate gojo cant live that attack that bothers me but the tip of the icing on top is that gojo starts glazing sukuna saying "he was holding back" and "i was no match for him" actually no i got one more. The ass pull where sukuna is stated to be able to just adapt his cleave and dismantle against infinity without mahoraga he just used him to "speed up the process" So your telling me ontop of all this other bs fucking sukuna DIDNT EVEN NEED MAHORAGA you know THE THING EVERYONE THOUGHT HE NEEDED INORDER TO EVEN GET PAST INFINITY!?! oh but sukuna is just so cool (more like a theif) he could of just changed gow cleave and dismantle work on the fly which im sure he can since sukuna can fucking steal cursed technique burn out something gojo invented durring his fight with sukuna and he can do anything any other sorcerer can do blah blah blah so mahoraga even being apart of the fight was basicly just another fucking plot twist since appearentlg mahoraga even being there is not even needed the whole reason sukuna has been doing you know anything he has done for the entire series aka "Yo megumi your body is to useful to let you just die let me burrow the wheel for a bit" him killing megumis sister with the ten shadows and the bath to further push megumis soul into the darkness? Well now he doesnt even need megumi infact he never did he just did all this to fuck with megumi in particular i guess

  14. I interpret this chapter like this : even without the label of the strongest Satoru Gojo is still Satoru Gojo separating from that label didn’t take away who he was. Him dying is an indicator that he was always more than being the strongest. Gojo was a human just like me and you. Flawed and all but someone we all respect and admire 😢

Contrast that to sukuna all he has is being the strongest that’s why he’s so lonely he can’t share that with anyone losing is like dying with that title he kinda has nothing.

  15. I'm really happy people's opinion on chapter 236 changed for the better cos I was one of the few people (that I saw at least) that actually really enjoyed this chapter from the get-go as soon as leaks came out. This sounds messed up, but when gojo was finally confirmed to die, after all of the dialogue before hand, I felt relieved. The strongest, finally relieved of his burden with complete faith in the monsters he created. Reunited with the friends he lost on the way

  16. Something interesting that’s lost in the whole back & forth around this chapter – when mahoraga was adapting in ways sukuna couldn’t, by changing its CE, sukuna gave his little speech about how mahoraga is HIS now, *not megumis*.
Implying maybe megumi can do something like the first adaptation perhaps?

  17. Gojo got cocky and let his guard down. He’s dead and is now humbled, that simple. He’s missing his arms and that cut was right in the sweet spots. Regardless, everyone will die but Yuji will bring them back to life. Yugi represents Kail Yuga and Kali, destruction and creation.

  18. lastly, this is TRUE enlightenment from Dojo. Enlightenment comes in death not in life when you’re on the level of these few people. That’s why he went from cocky to humbled.
