Tesla Full Self-Driving (Supervised) 12.5.1.3 picks my Dad up from Los Angeles International Airport (LAX) and gets us out of there curb to curb with zero interventions, completely hands free.

Latest issue I am having twice now same spot is it is supposed to turn left and it puts on the right signal like it is going onto the on ramp for the highway which is the opposite direction. Store 500 feet from me shows on map it needs to turn left and yet tries to get on highway.
Your dad has some great points about range and charging stations. Listen to his wisdom! I don't own a tesla yet because of range anxiety. Obviously day to day driving no biggie. But there are millions of people that don't want to have to deal with charging mid trip on the longer trips so they just buy an IC vehicle instead. This is me in a nutshell.
lol I love how at 3:55 your dad says that he would turn on his blinker to let people know you want to move over into the fast lane saying someone may slow down to let you in. In NYC it’s the opposite. You leave your blinker off otherwise people will speed up to purposely block you out.
That's great I did the same thing in my 2024 model X hardware 4 long range and it was great I can't wait for the day you fly in to LAX and you summon your car from home an it pics you up all by itself #myowenrobo taxi 🚖 😂
7:39 Lead car with FHD (Full Human-Driving) repositions car closer to the left side of his lane to allow a safe buffer zone between his car and the wide body bus.
7:44 FSD does not reposition to left side of the lane as it moves beside the wide body bus and stayed on the middle of its lane the whole time.
Decided to relax in our Model Y after getting home from work to watch this awesome trip. Looking forward to 12.5 soon on our hardware 3. 🙏 Lotsa love to all ❤❤❤
Omar, you have an amazing dad; treasure these memories. FSD 12.5.3.1 still has issues with hairpin turns and narrow canyon roads I tested – it typically drives way too slow, holding up traffic (like 12mph in a 25mph zone). On the upside, I’d rather it be safe than take unnecessary risk.
Fsd just seems like it can do every day driving either as good as a human or better now I do agree with your father on the charging stations I live in a rural area in Florida near Jacksonville even the closest gas station is over 6+ miles away but charging stations is very limited & probably closest 1 is probably like over 10+ miles away & again in Jacksonville area probably no more then 100 charging stations or less. Now I don’t believe Tesla should be the only 1 solving this i believe like ford/gm/rivian needs to do their part in this & build way more charging stations cause some times in life we may not be able to charge at home all the time & for me at least once a month I do a 340 mile round trip from Jacksonville to Tampa & would need to stop and charge right now my gas powered Tucson I can do it on a full tank of gas can get about 400-430miles out of a full tank
Maybe you can't play Water while driving for the video or your dad but I sure as hell can. Playing that song made watching you get out of LAX more relaxing.
I love FSD, and use it everywhere I go. Yes, it's not cheap. But the amount of sanity you gain in the dense urban and suburban areas without having to lose your mind, is a breath of fresh air. You can watch the road and the traffic around you, but focus on supervising the car, instead of just focusing on the road ahead. So then the driver becomes the copilot for the car, and you add assistance where needed, making the experience even better. Yes, like anyone who has and used FSD, it will make mistakes. But that's what more learning will fix. And just like us as teenagers learning to drive, we made lots of mistakes ourselves, and have gotten a lot better over the years. Same for FSD. Let's keep helping it learn, and it'll then be able to return the favor and help everyone, and become a reliable means of transportation for those that have disabilities.
Just got 12.5.1.5 and had it almost go through three different red lights. How can that be? Everything else was perfect but it has a problem with red lights on streets with around 45 MPH maybe I’ll recalibrate my cameras.
Dude, through your videos, I feel like I've become part of your family. I was just thinking "ah, of course, almost forgot to pick up dad from the airport again!".
There is a company who is working on a car with 100miles of range for those who want it. It's called aptera and they did a lot of work and change to make a car with that many miles and on a small battery too.
It's going to be much better when supervision is no longer required, because passengers will be focused on other things, and not care how well it changes or not changes lanes. They'll just be reading a book, watching a movie, or whatever else, and not even care how the car is doing.
Interesting around 10 minutes where they are in a tunnel and FSD's display is imagining that there's probably oncoming lanes on the other side of the wall.
You should clip from 14:35 to 15:15 then upload to X as well as YouTube as it was amazing as your dad say it like a stunt driver that is just excellent.
I am impressed with the calmness and politeness of US drivers. I think in some other parts of the world, there would be endless honking of horns in such a situation.
Must say I am impressed on how good the fsd system works in LA. When it does it so good I think isn’t bad that all the people in Europe don’t get some of the features. Like Norway is a much easier place to drive than LA

Looks like you guys are enjoying father-son quality time together !

7:45 what did you think of this intervention, Omar? Thanks for your video
Something similar but with hw 3 please 🙏 👍

Impressive, i now feel Tesla will crack the code within reasonable time!
The sad thing is that.. besides us sitting here, people have no clue about what FSD is capable of.

Some very impressing maneuvers- god bless your father – so lovely your relationship with you dad
What a ghetto airport. Well, it is LA after all.
FSD needs more training on lane positioning?

So close to FSD UnSupervised that is what I am really looking for. Let me be having a nap to and from the airport

Excellent! I still have a lot of distrust in the system to remove the steering wheel ? The lawyer's will line up? your dad is great !
I never would have imagined I could watch videos of other people doing basic drives in their own cars
But you & Chuck Cook make it incredibly interesting

I was at LAX on Saturday but didn’t have the guts to try FSD in the terminal area.
Love the Dad episodes

Your dad is very wise and has thoughtful insights. He’s right
Love the videos with your dad. Reminds me of mine, may God rest his soul ❤
Dude, through your videos, I feel like I've become part of your family. I was just thinking "ah, of course, almost forgot to pick up dad from the airport again!".
ac was too noisy
The videos with your dad are my favorite
I can see FSD becoming as common as air-conditioning in vehicles. Remembering when air-conditioning in vehicles were only for the top tier models.

Thank you for making these videos. You are really helping in showing what Tesla can do without fake information.
this is insane
i love the way your dad says "crazy"…
hey Omar, has anyone proposed that cars display a little green light (or something) on the back somewhere when FSD is engaged? thoughts.
Don’t argue with your Dad 😂 his opinion is Well Respected
I just received v12.1.5 😂😅 with AI3. I am ahead of you for a change
Interesting around 10 minutes where they are in a tunnel and FSD's display is imagining that there's probably oncoming lanes on the other side of the wall.
What happened at 7:44?
Dad asked a good question about the frequency of his interventions over time. Would be good to know the answer.
I wish my dad actually talked to me lol
You should clip from 14:35 to 15:15 then upload to X as well as YouTube as it was amazing as your dad say it like a stunt driver that is just excellent.
meanwhile im still stuck on 12.3.6 and havent been offered the update yet 🙁
I feel like in these situations FSD in all cars would reduce road rage, everyone knows that no one is driving, it’s just the computers lol
Dad is talking in concepts while Omar is a literalist. My wife and I are like that and it is often frustrating.
I swear all they need now is a cool 'Jarvis' type voice for FSD to make it 1000% cooler
I am impressed with the calmness and politeness of US drivers. I think in some other parts of the world, there would be endless honking of horns in such a situation.
It’s still a fraud. Doesn’t matter how you sugarcoat.
