  1. Buy and program an automatic feeder for your cat. When we bought one, our cat stopped waking us up early. She knows when the feeder gives out her first portion of food for the day. She'll sit beside the feeder instead of next to me!

  2. So, here's the question that must be asked.

What does being asleep in the same bed with someone – a state in which you are both unconscious and unresponsive – matter when you have no awareness of their presence anyway? WHY must you both occupy the same space when neither of you can do anything in it but sleep? People who cannot understand the depth of a relationship between a human and an animal are less likely to be deeply engaged themselves. If they are willing to disregard the emotional loss for the cat/dog/hedgehog they are unlikely to empathise with you as well.

  3. I knew my husband was The One when he got Christmas gifts for my cats. When we decided to get married and decided we would live in his house, the cats moved in before I did. My big grey and white tuxedo cat was as happy as can be. He and my husband became best buds and he'd sit on an extra chair in the office while DH worked. DH cried more than I did when we had to put Tuxedo down.

  4. Giirrl get your man and stop blocking your blessings. This is rodiculous, you need to reduce your co dependency on your cat. What if you had a newborn ? How would you set boundaries then?

  5. It's not how well you get along in relationship when things are great, it's when there are challenges and obstacles that the strength of your relationship will show you whether this is someone you want to be with. If the boyfriend has a major presentation the next day, why not stay at his own place.

  6. the cat more helpful to OP than the boyfriend and it sounds (from what i've heard until now) that Sean's just biding his time until he can impose Milo leaving permanently. his sleep may be important, but HIS sleep is not more important than his girlfriend's well-being.

  7. I didn’t grow up with any animals. And when my husband and I got together together, he had five dogs. He slowly introduced me to healthy habits with them and to make me comfortable if they were around us, they would be out, but if we leave the house because I was afraid they would poop and pee everywhere because I didn’t know anything about dogs. We kennel them or put them in a roomand sleep in bed doesn’t sleep in my bed. Don’t get to sleep with me.

  8. I understand the bf's point of view. My suggestion would have been to consider sleeping in separate bedrooms, one for the bf alone. Some couples do this for various reasons, like one of them snores too loudly. This, I think would have had better results as he would be able to close the door and Milo wouldn't bother because he knows where OP sleeps.

  9. I'd be interested to know if Sean plans on having kids because lol, good luck with that if you can't handle a cat.

And this coming from someone who has been sleeping badly for the last couple of months due to a quarantine kitten constantly knocking things off shelves and hitting me in the head with them when I'm asleep.

  10. She said she was understanding of his need for sleep because of his very demanding job but is she really????
"I understand but I don't really care enough to compromise" is all I hear from that.
Her obsession and codependency on the cat is only gonna lead to more heartbreak.

  11. I hope that guy never is thinking on getting children…

My cats are free to sleep wherever they want.. I prefer in bed with me but that’s up to the cats. If any woman would have a problem with that we would not work out.

  12. The "changing the rules" thing will be Sean trying to get rid of Milo for good. I wouldn't be surprised if he took Milo to a shelter or gave him away behind OP's back once they move in together. Sean will never change and no amount of OP sharing stories will change that. They're just not compatible. Milo is such a good, sweet boy. OP needs to date a cat person or someone who loves Milo as much as she does.

  13. I don't have a partner, but if I do get one and they give me a choice like this , then I'm choosing my dog . I love my dog like he is my baby . If my future partner can't accept it, then they are more than happy to break up with me😊.
