Your presentation (driving) of soft plastic lure is too aggressive for zander. Of course, it can vary from case to case, but… I will put it simple:
Cast, wait for contact with bottom, jump, pause, jump, pause, jump- jump, pause. You must "read" the bottom with lure. When the lure jump, 2- 3 seconds until it touch the bottom and you must keep the tension on the line.

Sorry to hear about your friend, but doing what you do is in itself an excellent tribute, and that there were multiple examples in this film alone of how you have inspired and helped other anglers (young and in many cases not so young alike) only reinforces that.

Another great video again well done. I moved from Henfield to live on the canals and I believe they are trying to eliminate the Zander, electro fishing has been done to remove as many as possible due to the impact they are having on our native species.
Your videos have been great for passing on your knowledge of fishing and as of now been fishing for a year and caught 5 species will try for more species next year. Your nv200 must have moon mileage on it now it’s part of your set up now
