  1. So awesome! Congrats! Its my dream to one day have a couple vintage guitars. Prices have gotten insane though! The pickups on your new arrival are very articulate. Really seemed to excel in the in-between positions. Great for funk. Totally agree on your comment on the middle pickup of a Strat. Love that extra mid range especially with a BF Fender amp! Still trying to figure out my thoughts on a treble bleed. I have one in my S-type guitar now, but I’m currently building a poor man’s custom shop partscaster Strat without one. I am trying a .022 cap though. You ever try values different than normal .047 on a Strat?

  2. Hey Budda, I am very glad that this guitar is making you happy – I had a '76 hardtail Strat once, but I've got to say I don't miss it at all! It had black polyester finish that had faded to brown, lots of chips and scratches. So I stripped off that finish (really really HARD work, polyester is tough) and underneath was a complete other polyester sunburst finish! I think Fender did that at times in the sixties too, every guitar was sprayed first as a sunburst and then custom colours were applied over the top? My advice is, don't even think about changing the finish! Have fun with it! How many Strats do you have now, you had a Custom Shop too I think?
