  5. Mans inhumanity to man and power corrupts…. The warden (Oldman) a sadistic psychopath / murderer who was systematically responsible for the death of Young ultimately got a "slap on the wrist" – he lost his job! Maybe he should have been given the same treatment he gave Young and many others – a real life learning curve and karma rolled into one…. Its the only way, or death…..it needs to be brought back for heinous crimes!
Great movie about a real life tragedy, Slater, Oldman, Bacon all superb but Macy never fails either … 👏 😎✌

  10. Kevin Bacon and Christian Slater should have been given an Oscar for their performance in this movie. I can't hardly believe I never heard of this movie before. Truly we must live in a multi universe. 30 years passed before seeing this in creditable movie. Deut. 32: 39.

  23. I visited Alcatraz as an Australian tourist completely unaware of this despicable history. I've sadly discovered this movie still describes present day America. The Establishment connives to escape justice with the influence of the maniacal perverted officials like Hoover and corrupt politicians in California with Pelosi, Harris and Newsom. And America, the mythical home of the Free and the American Dream, is still a land of great poverty, where the poor are the most imprisoned and downtrodden.

  24. Wikipedia says Henry Young was released from Washington State penitentiary in 1972 at the age of 61 … after that he disappeared … his whereabouts are not known … till today no one knows what was his life after that.

Kevin Bacon is a much underestimated character actor. It’s ridiculous that it’s Footloose that people remember the most. I love every movie I saw him acting in. 👍🏽👍🏽👍🏽👌🏽👌🏽👌🏽

  25. This just makes me want to cry about how people treat people. What’s worse is that this type of abuse still goes on in prisons. General public are not awear as we have been taught not to care because a prisoner has done something wrong by society. These people deserve to be treated far better than what they are. Some countries today have taken responsibility and have tremendous outcomes like Switzerland. We can only hope that other countries follow such a beautiful example.❤

  28. So based on the bible, they asked for the puniahement of "eye for an eye". The bible also tells when a man steals out of necessity, you should pardon him but if he is caughy he should pay 7 times.
So…. according to the bible, this kid just had to pay back $5×7 dollars
