It's always magnificent to see old towns like that, thank you for sharing.
John, those hunging salmon were something else!! I loved the sight of it. There is a particular spirit in a display of the traditional culture for survival.
Everything you showed us about Murakami is so fantastic! I just hoe I can go there before I die.
A very enjoyable hour!!!
Fantastic video quality, I love when you go on trips outside of Tokyo and take the time to explain what the local people have to offer people to come and enjoy their home town. You do such a great job and so much content to your videos not Limited to one aspect of life!
Almost feels like a cop car in the back of that taxi.. want a pair of handcuffs to wear until you're out?
John, this video on Murakami is one of the best among your glorious collection of introducing Japan. This one is fantastic! It is so quaint and away from busy tourism, right in the survival of traditional elements they carried on for generations. I love it! Thank you, thank you and thank you, John for taking up this town for your video. Im really hope to visit this place before I die.
the quality of that new streaming app is tremendous. it's so much better than before.
Me again; someone, maybe you.. did a video of small town homes, where the government helped the homeowners bring up to regulation places where people could rent our at a remarkably reasonable rate, which helps the local economy stay vibrant.. this could even promote a person from out of the country to have a home there.
Skateboarding olympics; huh a sport? About as boring as curling.. or watching golf or tennis on TV..
Great quality stream and wonderful town. The meat stick and amazake looked good. Was the salmon salty? Thanks John.
That food looked so umai!🍢🍡
Just finished 'traveling' the coastline road north of Murakami via Google Maps, Street View, would be a good motorcycle trip. To me, Japan must be traveled on a motorcycle. So much to explore.
It seems with 1080p that when it lags, the lags are longer and you miss more of what is said. So I think 720p is better overall. I think what makes this channel special is your knowledge from having lived in Japan so long. So missing half a sentence or a nugget of information is more of a loss than lower resolution in my opinion. We come here for you John 🙂
Is the salted salmon flesh tough compared to smoked salmon?
Thank you for reminding me to hit like.
I know you probably aren't thrilled with the watermark, but it's brief and the video quality is beautiful John. It makes the lives much more immersive for me, feels like we're walking around together just hanging out. And the patina of the old town really showed off that resolution.
you are the best John thank you for sharing! Merry Christmas!
I really love seeing and experiencing Japan through your eyes John. But I do not like how hungry I get watching you eat the delicious street foods. 😢 You are making me hungry John! Your enthusiasm is infectious. Thanks for another amazing experience.
Wonderful place.✌️
Thank you! Keep it up. I have so much to say, I am speechless. "Sea of Japan" good territory to explore.
I remember your midnight udon searches, man those were the days
only the zombies are missing from this town🤣
neat little city.
even with the small watermark, the 1080p quality is most definitely worth it! this feels much more immersive like we are actually there!
Bravo John! This livestream was one of my favorites on the OIJ Go channel. Crystal clear video quality. I think you are going to be the one who put Murakami on the tourist trail.
great video quality. you can see so much more detail in the stream!
I really enjoyed this livestream. This is coming strong as one of my favorites. Has a similar winter/autumn-cold but warm peaceful vibe of ur Mt. Daisen episodes and other interesting locations. Can't wait for the salmon episode. It will be in your Only in Japan John Daub channel i guess?
Niigata, I understand that area farms some of the worlds best quality Koi fish.

Strolling and eating your way through another gem of a town! Thank you!
