Please join the Islamic Center at NYU from July 19th – 29th for our annual Muharram Majlis programs.
Our nightly programs will begin at 6pm beginning with dinner, followed by Qur’an recitation by Qari Zuhair Hussaini, lamentation poetry, lecture and eulogy by Sayed Mohammed Hassan Alsheraa, and concluding with prayers at Maghrib time. The day of Ashura will be on July 28, 2023.
Sayed Mohammed Hassan Alsheraa is an Iraqi Muslim speaker who was born in the holy city of Qom. He completed his Bachelor’s degree in Political Science from the University of Michigan and is now finishing his Master’s in Religious Studies at the University of Detroit Mercy.
Since 2011, he has been studying under his respected father, Imam Sayed Bassem Alsheraa at the Hawzat Al-Najaf Al-Ashraf seminary in the Al-Zahraa Foundation. In 2015, he continued his Islamic studies at the Hawza of Karbala, Iraq.
Sayed Mohammed Hassan Alsheraa currently resides in Dearborn Heights, Michigan.
